Villa Grazie Mille - Charming Lake Como Escape

Each detail, big or small is taken care of in the best way possible, I cannot thank Michaela enough for the wonderful stay that I will remember forever! The food was delicious, the view is breathtaking and the villa is a place of highest comfort and tranquility. I loved the linen bed sheets, the view from the terrace as well as the bathroom and the incredible surroundings. Apart from everything the host Michaela is the most beautiful person in and out, it was a pleasure meeting her ♥️

I loved everything

The house and its beautiful garden, with several lovely places to sit and relax, were absolutely wonderful. Everything looked exactly as you would imagine a charming house on Lake Como to be. Our hostess made our stay especially memorable. Every morning she treated us to a delicious breakfast on a beautiful terrace in the garden. On the final morning, she even took us to an idyllic spot higher up above Lake Como, with a wonderful view over the water, where she surprised us with another lovely, typically Italian breakfast with fresh bread, fruit, coffee and cold drinks. It was a very special and unforgettable experience for our whole family.

The only small point of criticism was that the floors in the apartment did not seem to have been cleaned as thoroughly as we would have expected. Apart from that, everything was very well cared for and we had a wonderful stay.

Jest to miejsce, w którym można poczuć prawdziwe włoskie dolce far niente. Widok na Como o zachodzie słońca czy spożywanie pysznych śniadań przygotowywanych przez Michaelę to przeżycia trudne do opisania, a jednocześnie takie, które zostaną z nami na zawsze. Sam nocleg jest wyjątkowy, bo widać w nim serce właścicielki. Nie jest to kolejny chłodny, smutny hotel, ale miejsce z duszą, charakterem i niepowtarzalną atmosferą. W każdym detalu można dostrzec ogrom pracy, zaangażowania i miłości włożonej w stworzenie tego miejsca. I muszę powiedzieć kilka słów o cudownej Michaeli. To osoba, która zawsze służy pomocą, dba o każdy, nawet najmniejszy detal i sprawia, że po prostu chce się z nią rozmawiać i spędzać czas. W rozmowie powiedziała nam, że prowadzenie apartamentu było zawsze jej marzeniem – i naprawdę widać, że oddała temu miejscu swoje serce. Dziękujemy, Michaela, za to wyjątkowe miejsce, za Twoją gościnność i uśmiech. To pobyt, który zostanie z nami na długo 💖

The good about Villa Grazie Mille is that with the Lake View Suite you have a really nicely sized balcony and a fabulous view looking out towards Lake Como. The grounds and garden area of the villa are also lovely.

Our stay had many negatives: 1) There is NOT an en suite bathroom, it's a private bathroom but outside the room on the same floor 2) The bed and especially the pillows were very uncomfortable 3) There was a TV in the room but it didn't really work well, if at all 4) There is no AC, and the one small floor fan never made the room comforatble for sleeping, especially at night 5) upstairs bathroom is very tiny and sink was leaking 6) Breakfasts were almost always some combination of mozzerella and tomatoes - one day of our 3 there were some scrambled eggs with a bit of cheese. It was all about presentation, but no substance 7) Without a car you have few options for getting down from the hills into Varenna. Taxi is very difficult to find, Michela will drive you for €10 each way in her tiny car and apparently there is a free shuttle, but we were not able to figure it out how to use it with this location being way on the top of the hill, walking is not possible. And you are out of luck if you can't manage to communicate your need for a ride back from Varenna in the evening, as happened to us. It was just dumb luck we ran into the other couple staying at the Villa and they were very nice to give us a ride back with them.
