Acqua Dolce

Aqua Dolce was AMAZING! Antonio was a wonderful host. The breakfast was hosted in their house and was delicious. It was the cutest place, and the bathroom was the best feature! It was gorgeously decorated and had a big spa plus a view of the valley out the window. I highly recommend this property and Matera itself, what an amazing historical gorgeous place to visit.

We stayed here for one night during our visit to Matera and it was such a unique and memorable experience. The room was more like a beautiful apartment than a typical room. It was huge, beautifully appointed and there truly wasn't a detail that had been overlooked. Everything was thoughtfully provided and we felt incredibly comfortable during our stay. The location was fantastic, just steps from the Sassi, making it incredibly easy to explore Matera on foot. Antonio was incredibly helpful from the moment we arrived. He even helped us park in his own secure driveway, which was just steps from the apartment. Having safe and convenient parking so close by was such a bonus. But the best part of our experience was Antonio and his wife. Antonio generously invited us downstairs into his own cave home for breakfast, which was such a special and unexpected experience. He and his wife were absolutely wonderful hosts and prepared a delicious breakfast for us. Sitting in their beautiful cave home enjoying breakfast felt like we were experiencing a little piece of authentic Matera that we wouldn't have otherwise had the opportunity to see. The combination of the beautiful cave apartment, the perfect location, attention to detail and genuine hospitality made this stay truly special. We will always remember our time here and would happily return.
