Hotel Aquarius Venice - Ascend Collection

The variety of food was great. Loved the cappuccino machine.

The room was extremely cold and made it difficult to enjoy a hot meal.

Great location, very friendly and helpful staff and the breakfast was fantastic. Both the food on offer and the location, where breakfast was served. Also the quiet garden/square behind the hotel leading out to the canal is just wonderful. The perfect antidote to the notorious touristic bustle, that dominates much of Venice.

The bathroom fan was pretty noisy. Probably needs to be replaced. That was the only thing I could find a fault with. Everything else was really nice.

The hotel is in a great location. We booked it last minute due to cancelled flights. The glass chandeliers throughout the entire hotel is an impressive expression of the glass art that is made locally. The patio/garden/bar area was nice. We did not have time in the morning for the included breakfast so I can not comment on that.

For the price of the room I was expecting it to be bigger. We had 2 suitcases each and there was not enough room to open all of them so we had to take turns getting into our suitcases. Once opened on the floor I had to move some furniture so you could shimmy around the bed to get to the other side.

Friendly staff. Beautiful Hotel. Spacious Rooms. Plenty of eateries in the area (highly recommend the one right opposite the hotel). There is also a Co-op store opposite, so you can stock up on drinks etc. It's my second time staying at this Hotel. I booked a Deluxe Junior Suite. Initially we were given a very spacious room with a sofa bed (all in one) but I requested a change (website shows a larger room with a smaller separate room - I would suggest you request this directly from the Hotel, as it's not always available). Staff were so friendly and they accommodated to our needs, so we were given one generous size room (double bed) and my friend had the small side room with a single bed. Location, although quieter, is perfect if you want to explore the beautiful streets of Venice. 5 min walk to the nearest water taxi . 10 mins to the Train Station. 20 mins walk to St. Marks Square. Breakfast was basic for a 5 star, but met all our needs. Highly recommend Hotel Aquarius!
