Mermaid Cove is the perfect place for a big group to stay together and enjoy the areas parks and towns. A group of friends met in McKinleyville to explore the parks, beaches and local shops/towns for 7 days. We couldn’t have asked for a better home base than Mermaid Cove. From the views to the house set up, we had everything to make this the perfect vacation together. With your own home banana slug mascot to the frogs singing at night and each morning to the waves breaking on the beach, we were in paradise. Redwoods National and State Park with its multitude of hiking paths, visitor centers, and beaches to explore close by, we had plenty to do in the area. You can’t go wrong with staying at Mermaid Cove.

This is a superb vacation home. One of the best we’ve been to, if not the best. Very clean, and with great attention to detail. Perfect locations for a Redwoods trip. Complete privacy and ocean views from every room. We are a family of 5 and were very comfortable in the house. Also, the vacasa team is very responsive and answered our questions immediately.
The most interesting thing about the house - is that it is 100% following the ocean/mermaid theme. They really went overboard with this, with every little detail. You have to see it to believe it.

We loved this house. It was perfect for our annual friends book vacation. We loved how spacious it was and enjoyed sitting on the porch (or in the hot tub) watching the ocean as we relaxed. The house was super clean and had everything we needed. Plus the beds are so comfortable we contacted the property manager to find out what mattresses they had. Overall amazing stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at Mermaid Cove. The house was clean and well-stocked. The hot tub and fire table outside are awesome when combined with the amazing views! They also had cornhole outside, which we loved. It's important to note that the house doesn't have actual access to the beach. The views are great though!

A very large, well stocked, and decorated house. The house comes with anything you would need. It is well maintained.
The service from Vacasa was excellent. They immediately answered my questions about the garbage cans when I checked in. They also returned several items that my brother inadvertently left some item behind without a charge. Very much appreciated.

This property had it all. Absolutely stunning views, and every room was completely stocked. We had everything we needed to have an amazing stay. The hot tub was great to relax while we watched the waves roll in. The beds were clean and comfortable with high quality mattresses. Each room had a slider to the deck, and an en suite bathroom. They also had electric fireplaces to take the ocean chill away. The common areas were stocked with all creature comforts and necessities including towels and throw blankets to cuddle up on the oversized sectional. A large driveway easily accommodated 2 vehicles (one a dually) with more than enough room to spare. Decor was stunning and no detail was missed keeping the mermaid/beach theme throughout the house. We had no complaints and saved this as a favorite property since we’d love to visit again in the future.

This was the perfect size home, in the perfect location, with the most perfect decor for my group of friends. The house was very clean and as advertised. It was actually so much cuter in person. There was a break in the weather to enjoy the patio, fire pit, and hot tub. The beds were big and comfortable, and every room had its own bathroom and slider door to the outside. The kitchen was well stocked, although we did not use it. I cannot say enough about this rental and the great service I received from Vacasa staff before and after our stay. I highly recommend and would stay here again.

The home was absolutely wonderful! It was the most well appointed rental I've ever stayed in. There was only one thing I could think of that this house didn't have and that was a set of sheets for the pull-out couch.(Which I was told was very comfortable!) But we were able to improvise.
The name Mermaid Cove certainly lived up to it's promise! More mermaids and mermaid themed items than I would have ever imagined in one place. It was so much fun looking at them all!!
There was a sufficient amount of toys, puzzles and coloring materials for the little ones and everything was in good working order.
The beds were comfortable the spa was clean, the neighborhood was quite and the view was to die for!!

This property was so amazing! My favorite place we have ever stayed! The house was so clean and well stocked! The sunsets were amazing! House is next to a bike/walking path. The kitchen had EVERYTHING! I loved picking the place setting for every meal. The dishes and glassware were beautiful!

Mermaid Cove offered a great central location to enjoy Humbolt County. Beautiful quiet location. House was well stocked, clean and had a great layout for our family of 5. The backyard was the perfect place to relax after a long day.

Great place to watch the sunsets, but if you have a house issue that needs fixing, good luck with Vacasa customer service. There was a business card on the counter that had a local number to call for help, do that first if there's a problem. Also, Vacasa didn't send me the code to unlock the door until less than 24-hrs prior to our arrival, which was uncomfortable. I actually called them to get the code before their automated e-mail came through. Expect a long hold if you call Vacasa.

Outstanding! Even better than the pictures. The mood was set from the moment we arrived. Jazz music, soft lighting, perfect temperature setting and amazing decor. We arrived shortly after sunset so we missed what I am sure was an amazing sunset but we enjoyed a different one each night there after. Great location right next to the Hammond Trail and close to Arcata, Eureka and Trinidad. It was so private, peaceful and relaxing but close enough to enjoy all the area has to offer (ocean and big trees) and so much more. We hated to leave each day because it was so relaxing but we also wanted to explore nature. This home has such attention to detail in everyway from the comfortable bed, the decor to everything you could possibly need to prepare your own meals. Loved the hot tub and playing pool. We enjoyed eating at Larrupin's in Trinidad for a delicious birthday meal. Also, enjoyed a Lua Lomi Massage in Arcata. The Vacasa staff was also very attentive to any questions that we had during our stay. I can't say enough about how wonderful this house was.

The Mermaid Cove is incredibly mesmerizing. The views are amazing and every detail in the house has been thought through. We have stayed in many VRBOs and this house was by far the most well stocked and every need was considered. The only slight problem was that the code to the hot tub was not included anywhere so it was a slight hassle to get ahold of someone for the code, but we let them know it needs to included in check in directions so hopefully that will be quickly resolved. We loved everything about this stay other than having to leave. The hot tub was nice and warm, the fire pit was beautiful, the kayaks for the river were lots of fun. We couldn’t have asked for a better house!

Best stocked house we've ever stayed in. Thank you for the little things--soap, coffee creamer, paper plates, oil, seasonings, laundry soap. Great room and kitchen had plenty of room for our group of 6. Deck has to be over 1000 sq ft facing the ocean. Beautiful fireplace, clean hottub. Like new Weber grill, soft beds, plenty of towels, heavy duty utensils and place settings. Only concern we had was the many breakable mermaid and dolphin decorations sitting on every surface.. Traveling with kids caused a little anxiety but nothing got broken during our week in the house.

We had a divine girls BBQ night at the home and enjoyed the local produce and other goodies (the purple potatoes were sooo good) we got at Saturday's farmers market in Arcata, some fresh crab from the docks on Woodley Island and whatever else was missing from the Eureka Natural Food store which there is one also in McKinleyville!! The hot tub was the best at the end of every day after a exploring the coast and the Redwoods. The BEST stay I could have ever imagined or hoped for!

Fantastic home!
This house is wonderful! The pictures don't do it justice. The view from the house and deck are amazing! And all of the bedrooms have a view and open onto the deck as well. We had all we needed stocked in the house and more. It was fun that it was all a mermaid theme. We will definitely stay here again.
