Very nice villa in a beautiful alley. 20 mins walk to the train station. One of the most amazing town in Switzerland. Spacious and quiet. Very well maintained. Gabrielle is nice and helpful.
It will be easier if we could pay the local tax with credit cards.

This is a great, old-fashioned property located in the heart of Brienz in one of the most beautiful streets in Europe. You get to experience a simpler, chalet-style life whilst watching the occasional group of tourists walk up and down the street taking pictures of the buildings. Local supermarket just 3 mins around the corner, a bigger one (where you can buy alcohol) 15 mins walk away. WiFi worked well. Incredibly nice lady who helped us settle in and looked after us.
The cooking facilities could have been better - old-fashioned hob and oven. Would have appreciated a microwave and there is room for one. Switzerland does not do air conditioning but you could do with it in this place during the summer months. We did, however, manage to keep it cool most days (beyond 34 C you really are struggling to cool the place down at night) - you just have to learn to close all the shutters and seal the place during the day and fans were provided. Great if you were planning to be out all day every day, which we were.

Two local groceries 3-10 minutes walk
Was on the street voted as most beautiful street in Europe
Our host Gabrielle was a gem
No microwave especially for self catering
Need proper sofa for sitting room especially for 5 people who want to relax after a very exhausting day sightseeing
The owner need to provide the host with a business phone where WhatsApp can be available for easy communication
