Base Apartments

Base Apartments is in a building with other offices and businesses and is on the 5th to the 8th floor on 212 Kieler Starsse. This is the first time in a long time an apartment was better than I expected. It was clean, the kitchen was well-equipped, and the bathroom was a decent size. The bed and pillows are super comfy. The room itself is maybe 25 square meters and well designed. There is bath gel, shampoo and conditioner. There is AC and/or heating which works well and does not make too much noise. It is very close to the S-Bahn, so 20 minutes into the city (download the hvv app and pay online-really easy). There are two supermarkets nearby and Subway is downstairs. McDonald's and Burger King are also close. Breakfast is at a cafe about a 5-minute walk. Really decent food and very relaxed. Get the hot chocolate; we loved it. To check in you have to upload your ID docs and then they send you a pin code which is good for all the doors (downstairs, hallway and room): If you need anything extra (towels, TP, an iron, fan, heater, etc.) there is a room on the 5th floor that you can get into with your code. Any questions or doubts, use WhatsApp and they will answer you right away.

There are mini lights everywhere (which you can even control and change their colors with a remote), but there needs to be one big light in the centre of the room. The walls of the room are very dark blue and burgundy. So, dark walls and no light equals a cave-like experience at night.

Great location, easy access and very leisure approach to getting accomodation

I didn’t know where the breakfast area was

The room is comfortable and the view is nice.

The app they use still needs some improvement.
