Everything was great - overall vibe, decor, pool, spa, breakfast! Can 100% recommend this hotel in Mahe if you want relaxed luxury.

Service in the poolbar was super slow and food + drinks were quite expensive for what you got.

We chose L’Escale Resort Marina & Spa for our final night in Seychelles due to its convenient proximity to the airport. The physical property itself is stunning—the grounds are beautiful, the pool is amazing, and the rooms are great. Unfortunately, the overall experience was severely let down by poor service and a staff that doesn't seem properly trained in hospitality. A few key issues ruined what should have been a luxury stay: • Payment Hassles: Upon arrival, we were told we couldn't pay with American Express, which was surprising for a property that is part of Small Luxury Hotels of the World. The next day, we realized paying via an Amex link was actually an option, but by then it was too late as we had already used another card. • Disappointing Breakfast: The breakfast was very hit-or-miss. Do not bother ordering a cappuccino—they clearly don't know how to make one. We were served cold coffee mixed with milk and zero foam (a basic machine coffee would have been ten times better). To top it off, they got our food order wrong despite us repeating it to the server. • 6:00 AM False Alarm: The worst part of the stay was being jolted awake at 6:00 AM by a loud fire alarm. Just as we were getting ready to evacuate, it stopped. When we asked reception about it later, the staff member simply brushed it off with an "Ah yes, that happens occasionally"—offering zero apology or any gesture of goodwill for the disruption. • Unhelpful Check-out Policy: Check-out is at 11:00 AM, which is quite early compared to other resorts. Since our airport transfer was at 1:45 PM, we asked for a late check-out. The receptionist flatly refused, claiming someone else was checking into our room. The hotel was clearly empty—we saw maybe 3 or 4 other couples during our entire stay—so there were undoubtedly free rooms available. It felt like they simply couldn't be bothered to assist us.
