Bath YMCA Hostel

Affordable Prices. Great location. Enjoy the simple breakfast. We like our simple but clean room. We got a nice private room at the end of the hall way. Two bunkers, four beds. Very clean, Soft, and Comfy.

The sink in our bedroom clogged up. Didn't find out but we think there's No private room with bathroom available in the property... 🤔

Location staff and it was cheap. Fine for one night for me

Maybe we got unlucky but it was noisy late at night with drunk people arriving back. This might be unfair if you are young and one of the drunk ones squeaking bed springs at 2am🤣

It was SO centrally located!

The rooms had nowhere to put or hang clothes-not even a hook on the door or wall

Our stay at the YMCA Bath was genuinely enjoyable, largely thanks to its excellent location. Being right in the heart of the city meant we could walk everywhere—perfect for exploring Bath’s beautiful streets, museums, and historic sites. After long days on foot, it was such a relief to be able to pop back to the hotel, take a short rest, and then head out again easily for dinner. That convenience made our trip feel smooth and relaxed. Another highlight was the free weekend breakfast, which felt especially thoughtful. Even during the busy Jane Austen Festival weekend, when the whole city was buzzing with visitors, the hotel still made sure breakfast was available and well-organised. It was a lovely touch that made us feel looked after. Overall, the YMCA Bath offered comfort, practicality, and kindness in all the right places. It’s a great choice for anyone who wants to be close to everything and appreciates small gestures that make travel easier.

🛠️ Areas for Improvement Shower room storage — The shower room would benefit from having holders or shelves for small bottles and soaps. With nowhere to place toiletries, it can be a bit inconvenient, especially when trying to keep things organised and dry. Room window maintenance — The window in our room was quite difficult to open and close, and it could have been cleaner. A little extra attention to maintenance and cleaning here would make the room feel more comfortable and welcoming. Fire alarm disturbance — There was a fire alarm that went off around 3am, which was loud and quite shocking. While safety is important, ensuring alarms don’t trigger unnecessarily during the night would greatly improve the overall experience.
