Interesting and unique rooms. Very confortable space. We really loved the rooftop garden.

The vibes, the vibes! What a unique place full of character! We were lucky to get the Che Guevara room which was a good laugh! The whole hotel feels very organic, the breakfast area is loaded with just about a million trinkets. The food was good, staff was friendly, too.
I'm not going to say I felt unsafe but it's not the least safe location in all of London. There were beggars in front of the nearby Tesco, and police car sirens could be heard with some frequency. But the DLR / tube station is nearby, so you can escape fast enough. :)

I liked the quirkiness of the hotel, the friendly staff, and the way the rooms were decorated. We were coming back from a concert, so, having a friendly receptionist let us in quite late and even upgrade our room was so lovely.
The only thing I didn't like is that we were put in the Victoria room, which was lovely as a whole, apart from one thing: The bathroom window backs onto the garden area where there were tipsy men talking until 2am ish. I couldn't see how to open any other windows, and needed air, but because I could hear & see the men so close, I kept having nightmares that they'd pulled the window up and had come in.

The building.
The hostile reception on arrival. We had to show photo ID and pay a £100 deposit using an unfamiliar platform (credit card payments weren’t accepted). The staff member rattled through the complex process at top speed, meaning a queue formed behind us while we got to grips with what was required. We felt uncomfortable - and definitely unwelcome. The room was very small.
