The closeness of the hotel near the city centre. The breakfast was also very nice.

For me the location was ideal as there was a nearby bus stop into the town centre although I chose to walk. The room was elegant and comfortable and overlooked a stream, The bathroom was bigger than in most modern hotels and the large walk in shower was easy to use, a great help for an older person.

The breakfast was disappointing. The menu had a selection of cooked and continental breakfast dishes but no cereals, fruit or juice was on offer. Coffee came in a cup not a pot as is usual in most hotels.

This is a lovely hotel well situated on the edge of the town centre. It is clean and comfortable, although (to my mind) rather eccentrically decorated. We only had a light breakfast but what we had was lovely. The staff, when you could find them, were helpful and friendly.

It is a pity that the hotel is next door to a concert venue (The Barn) as we had the thudding beat of the bass until around 11 p.m. The staff were lovely when you located them but you generally had to go in search of someone to check-in, serve breakfast, etc. Maybe they were just short-staffed during our stay.

Location, bed, shower and breakfast was good. Staff ( when around) was friendly.

The general cleaning of the placed left a lot to be desired. Entrance was dirty and full of leafs, downstairs wooden floor was dirty and sticky. Every time you went to the breakfast/ dinning area you had to pass this room off the corridor which always had the door open and it was very messy and dirty inside. We stayed 2 nights and the room was not cleaned second night, bins were not cleaned .. generally there was a lot of dust everywhere from cob webs on lampshades to bathroom surfaces. Tea bags not replenished on second day.. when called reception at 20:50.. no one picked the phone or listen to the messages left. You have to pay extra for parking for all the day time you are at the hotel.
