Casa Amarela Guesthouse

I travelled here alone during September time. The accommodation felt very secure and safe as you needed a fob to enter the building. The location of the property was very peaceful but only around a 7 min walk to main Old Town Square. The room was spotless and the staff were very helpful. The owner gave me a few recommendations for local restaurants which were fantastic. I was allowed to use the pool and shower area after I had checked out as I had a flight later in the day which was really handy. I had the whole pool area to myself for most of the day. There are also really comfortable bean bags under a shaded area to lie and read if you want some time out of the sun. There is a coffee machine you can use for free until 12pm with a variety of coffees and a kitchen area with fridge, microwave etc if you prefer to prepare your own food. I would definitely recommend this accommodation to others!

It was fine for me but anyone who isn't that fit might struggle with walking up the hills back from the main square. Taxis can always be ordered in this case.

We had a fabulous stay! The room was spotless, the bed was very comfortable, and the entire place had so much for a guesthouse such as a pool, kitchen facilities you could use, storage and some key essentials you could borrow. Fabiana was extremely welcoming, allowed us to come to the guesthouse early and make use of the facilities as we had a very early flight and gave us access to the room as soon as it was ready. Getting clean towels was never a problem too! She gave us great tips for local dining and beaches. The guesthouse is a short 5/10 minute walk to the centre of old town. A few complimentary beverages in the room to which was so kind. Highly recommended!

Room was was nice, quiet, clean, dbl bed big and comfortable, A/C strong, wifi adequate. Fabiana was super welcoming and attentive. We could leave our baggage before/after checkin/checkout, there was even a common bathroom/shower we could still use. The rooftop area, pool and sunbeds were ok. As good as the location allowed. Grumpy neighbour complaining about topless women 😂 Common kitchen was super clean and tidy (the whole place was remarkably tidy). We were offered all manner beach accessories for free, even cooling box, beach umbrella, sunscreen... ❤️. Plenty of towels, even for the beach.

Room was a bit small and only one side had bedside table or sockets. Pool was a bit cold and the lounging areas could've used some decoration.

Fabiana is so welcoming and accommodating. This property feels loved and has many little extras to make the stay feel special.

When it’s cold or windy there is only an outdoor communal area.
