Location

Seagulls squawking constantly-what is it with Southwold fascination with seagulls squawking and pooping everywhere. I do not recall this when I went to school there in 1970s !

Good location

The balcony area was unusable as it was dirty with seagull droppings. The roof it was on was thick with dried seagull poo. The windows and window ledges were also covered. 2 adult gulls were raising 2 baby gulls on the flat roof and were exceptionally noisy day and night. If they saw you they begged for food. The pictures for the property show plastic grass on the roof. This is the problem. It has traps debris rather than enabling anything to be washed away naturally. It has provided the gulls with a perfect home. We had to buy ear plugs in order to get any sleep. It was hot at night as you couldn’t open the windows due to the noise. Also there were no instructions as to how to use the TV. No tea towels and under the bed was thick with dust

The property was in a good location for the town and beach. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and the shower had good pressure.

The kitchen/seating area was pretty small and we couldn’t use the balcony because there were seagull chicks with anxious parents there. This is obviously outside the control of the owners and not a criticism of them, just a statement of fact.

Proximity

Needed to call the agency to ask for clean sheets and towels and to clean the toilet area of urine. Bed & pillows are old and very uncomfortable no matter how many toppers to use. Sofa bed is too narrow to sit on to watch the TV & again very uncomfortable. Spent most of the time out of the property.
