Great location, very close to the town, and the house itself was clean
The only downsides were a very unpleasant drain smell throughout all of the rooms and bathrooms - and the beds and pillows were quite hard and unfortunately not very comfortable.
Apart from these two points, we had a pleasant stay. I would definitely recommend looking into the drainage smell and perhaps improving the beds with softer pillows and mattresses or even mattress toppers? as these small changes would make the stay much more comfortable.

It was our second stay at this property, great location in York with several good restaurants nearby. The house has great modern bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchen etc.
The garden/yard could do with a little love

Great location. The gas fire was a real bonus. Good to have three bathrooms. Well laid out. Well hoovered. Spacious - particularly for three people. The letting agent was responsive and friendly when we complained but the offer of a bottle of prosecco did not really counteract our feeling that the property was expensive and a bit tired. Could easily be made much more welcoming and we hope this will happen
1. Main problem was that the door of the shower cubicle fell off onto one of us. Very heavy and could have hurt someone, particularly a child or older person. No response when we left a message - though the letting agent did come back to me later and did the best she could. 2. Smell of drains in the bathroom. 3. Pretty unwelcoming after a long journey. Some milk, relevant coffee pods, biscuits and possibly a welcome card would have made a difference.
