Residence Inn by Marriott Amsterdam Schiphol Airport

Comfortable stay included good breakfast (wkdays start at 06:30, wkends start at 07:00) to start off the day. Apartment is well-equipped. Nice & cosy wellness facilities as well as a warm water indoor pool/ unlimited access incl. in our hotel booking was well worth it. 24/7 access to the gym as well.

Unclarity regarding (high!) parking fees (take a parking ticket on arrival & absolutely sort this out with hotel reception staff at check-in, DO NOT use QR code/app to enter hotel barrier/gantry on arrival!), shelter between the 2 neighboring hotels was unfortunately under construction during our entire stay so we had to always walk in the cold to head over to the restaurants & wellness facilities located at other hotel building. Parking space quite limited. Room service took away our empty PET bottles left on the table/kitchen counter without consent: these have return deposits. Shuttle bus not free for hotel guests/ ride costs €5 per person for travel from hotel to airport, whereby the ride is only free when traveling from airport to hotel.

Breakfast was poor, little choice. Scrabbled eggs were cold, boiled eggs not cooked. Jam dispensor not refilled. dishwasher needed salt and rinse aid

The shuttle didn’t come at the appointed time. Waited outside for almost an hour with small children for the shuttle. When shuttle arrived super full. All of the guests had to check-in. Check-in took more than an hour. Manager express checked-in Marriott members but I guess a family with two children under three had to wait at the end of the line; it isn’ like we could race from the shuttle to the lobby. Property was fine for what it is, but the service was disappointing.
