Interesting history, considered design, helpul (very polished) staff and gorgeous garden and roof spaces. The room was lovely and had no ghosts! Breakfast was possibly the best I've had in years of traveling. Nice neighbourhood to land in for 24 hours. And bats! ;>

Beautiful place and design, lovely and comfortable amenities. It felt like a closed, relaxing enclave inside the city.

While fresh and generally enjoyable, the breakfast was the weakest point overall. First and foremost, there were no clear allergen/diet indicators next to the products displayed. Some of the breakfast staff were also extremely stressed when spoken to in English/not English-speaking, making it quite difficult to ask for clarification on any products or dietary restrictions, or to request the related accommodations they offer in theory. I really hate to add to the staff's plate and cause them stress, and I wish this were taken care of at the process/setup level... They do have vegan/dairy-free options and can make some things, but figuring out what those are or how to get them was tiring. Given the above, it was a bit frustrating that we were not informed of a price increase compared to what was shared over email. The apartment doors were also a bit loud, so we did hear guest returning late.

A beautiful well maintained building with generously sized rooms. Beautiful rooftop pool and the nicest sauna I’ve seen in a hotel.

A bit of a maze. Got lost a bit at first. But got used to it quickly.

This is truly an amazingly quirky hotel, an old prison that has been transformed into a hotel. The hotel is kept clean and tidy by an amazing housekeeping team.

Where to start… 1. Upon arrival we were told all about the amazing restaurant. Unfortunately the reception team failed to tell us it was closed on Sundays and Mondays, we arrived in the Sunday and so this left us having to find and travel to an alternative external restaurant. 2. The rooms are extremely small and people need to be aware that if you are travelling with someone, you need to be intimately close with them. The shower/toilet is only separated by one door which is see through and you can hear everything! 3. To get from reception to your room you have to walk 2-blocks to get there, if you want to move to the different areas of the hotel, you often have to leave the hotel and then re-enter. 4. There is underground carpark but again you have to exit via a flight of stairs, not easy with luggage and at €54 a night, this doesn’t offer great value. 5. Breakfast is your typical continental self service breakfast with no al a cart option available.
