At first look I was concerned what the motel looked like from the outside. The interior was a pleasant surprise. Smaller room but updated. I feel it was worth the money.

I was surprised the out side off the hotel looked run down some but the room made up for the outside appearance.

When we got to the room assigned to us, we opened the door and realized immediately the room had not been cleaned. The bed sheets were mussed and there were dirty towels on the floor. We went elsewhere.

Arrived with snow falling, no one in reception. Followed instructions, walking around outside in cold to check other rooms for hotel staff, found no one anywhere. Rooms appear torn apart and filthy through windows. Called number provided, no answer and could not leave message. Finally heard from manager who apologized and said she would reimburse charges, still waiting.

This is a little gem!! It looks like a dive on the outside but it’s nice and reasonably comfortable on the inside. The manager was very helpful and kind. Would probably stay there again

The room was clean and warm. We had a 2 night stay and then needed to cancel one night and I called to see if I could get a refund.--The manager okayed the cancellation, 7:30 p.m. stating that the refund has to come from Hotels.com and Hotels.com stated they needed the okay from the hotel.

No one at the Hotel when I arrived. Had to make three calls and wait for a person to arrive 20 minutes. The internet kept dropping out, I had to re-enter the password. The hotel is located on a busy main road and has a small square parking lot exposed to all rooms, The windows are single paned. So the stay was noisy all night and it I could hear every vehicle that pulled in…apparently this is a truck stop town, because at 3:45 am the road noise increased. There was an old small refrigerator in the room that was vibrating and loud. I had to unplug it! My stay was not restful, and I could not sleep, so I left before the free breakfast was being served. I would have been better off driving past Ely than staying at the hotel.

Brittany went out of her way to make sure I had everything I needed. Was going to tip her but she refused it. The place is older but rooms are very clean . For the money you can't beat. It!!!

Excellent staff, i had to message at 4am and the lady helping me at the desk went out of her way to gather items for breakfast for me to eat on the road. Room was clean and comfortable.

The hotel wasn’t even open and the website still allows me to book a non refundable reservation. Furthermore I was met my a strange guy claiming to be the managers boyfriend who then threatened me when inquiring about a refund.

I was sent to a different hotel across street was lied to about everything i am sending official complaint with pictures i want my money back you crocks this place is partialarly condemned there was no breakfast it was moldy yellow from smoke lights were so dull

I would stay overnight here again for an overnight stop.

The hotel was closed on arrival due to a computer malfunction I was told so we were sent to another. The television was not working in the room we were assigned, so we had to switch rooms. The attendant was very apologetic, kind, and helpful under the circumstances, which we appreciated very much. However the bed was comfortable and everything worked. I would not risk making reservations again at this facility again.

Listed as a hotel but just a motel. Counter person said it had been closed for a year so took us to the other Magnuson in town.

Room was dirty, outlet for heater looked burned, only one towel in room with two checking in, slow flushing toilet, TV had no signal, no WI-FI code, no one ever in office on location (left me an envelope taped to door with room keys), ice machine didn’t work, no continental breakfast or even coffee or water. They have another hotel across and down the street a bit that had an attendant that was finally able to help. He was nice but everything there SUCKED! Would NOT recommend! EXPEDIA should take both of their hotels off their list. Way too much money for nothing!

Terrible place; the power outlets, TV, and interior lights didn't work. I was completely wiped out from a very long drive and didn't have the energy to pack up and change rooms, assuming it was even possible. The only good notes: Front desk person was very friendly and the bed was comfortable so I had a nice rest. All in all not worth the cost at all.

I was looking for a hotel without smoke and that's why we stayed here. This hotel has two locations and there was a sign on the door to go down the street to the other location to get checked in. The parking spaces are very small. The Wi-Fi didn't work, the TV didn't work and the shower didn't drain well. The ice machine was broken. Traffic was loud because it's so close to the street. The bed was somewhat comfortable and clean. There was coffee in the room but no cream or sugar. If all you do is sleep (like the dead) it's okay.

We arrived after 8 p.m. The office was closed but an envelope with my name on it, and keys in it, was taped to the office door. The room was clean. Nice that we could park in front of the room making it easy to carry luggage in. Met the staff the next morning. All very nice.

The room was clean and the bed fairly comfortable but it was also bare bones. It was like they didn't have staff or time to do more than provide a clean bed and bathroom. It was sufficient but disappointing.

When we walked in our first room, it had not been cleaned. Went back to the front desk and told the lady. She said she just got off of work at her other job and was not cleaning a room. She said she would give us a refund. That’s great but we have no place to stay. She then told us they have one other room but there is no working a/c. We took the room because we had no other choice. When we returned from dinner somebody else was staying in the first room. Hopefully they cleaned it before giving them keys.

I expected there to be a refrigerator, but for one night it wasn't a big deal, (I set my water bottles in front of the AC and they were chilled enough to drink).
The breakfast offerings were varied and of good quality, it was a nice way to start the last leg of my driving trip.

It's clean and comfortable enough for a short stay. However, the wi-fi was down and both the television and one of the room lamps did not work. No big deal to me as I was only staying one night, but I can imagine this would probably prove unacceptable for anyone staying much longer.

Rooms were very nice but the parking lot was almost enough to scare us away. It was badly in need of resurfacing. Minor issues with the door to the rooms.

No real complaints. It was about what we expected. A little run down, but perfect for a quick place to stay with 4 kids. The service was great. Check in was literally less than 20 seconds. They asked my last name, gave me the keys, told me about breakfast and checkout times, and I was done. My wife didn't believe me it was so fast.
Breakfast was either a pre packaged donut or bagel. They also had coffee for those interested. Pretty light, but that is what the told us.
Overall we were satisfied with what we needed for a fair price. If you are expecting something fancy, you shouldn't be in Ely.
