Booked for a quick, inexpensive overnight stay, the Pier Blue met my needs perfectly. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Being able to park my car right near the door to my room was an added plus. Under similar circumstances, I would book again.

The room was very comfortable although the bathroom needs an upgrade but for the price it was good. The staff was extremely kind.

great location on the Boston Post Road and convenient; and room was very basic, but clean. Not sure if pets are allowed but there was a definite doggy smell in the room. Also had to troubleshoot the TV in order to make it work. But otherwise okay I guess

Really great stay. The price was right, it was much quieter than expected. Very clean and spacious. Would definitely recommend and stay in again. The only thing was it smelled pretty heavily perfumed/the cleaning products used were very fragrant. Lovely stay regardless!

Pier Blue Inn is overall a very good motel with very friendly and helpful staff and a good location on on Route 1 on the outskirts of Old Saybrook, across the street from an excellent café called the Tea Kettle. The King Deluxe room was spacious and had a full-size refrigerator/freezer, a rare treat in motels. The room was not very quiet though. Sound carried a lot through the walls and ceiling, a problem in a first-floor corner room, and the king size bed had the noisiest springs I have ever slept on. With a better bed I would give the Pier Blue Inn five stars.

We stayed for a night while attending a wedding nearby. Would definitely recommend it. Clean, convenient and quiet (our room was on the back side). An excellent value.

Hotel was old and Dated but clean.. room had a overpowering smell not mildew but maybe some type of cleaner being used. Was not expensive but got what we paid for.

The place needs an upgrade. The locks on the door barely function. Nice and spacious but very old. Lovely staff.

This hotel met our price and location requirements. Decent accommodations. Clean and spacious. Comfortable. Nice to have a microwave and fridge. Check-in was quick and easy, and when we asked, we got a recommendation for dinner at a sports bar. Nice to have a breakfast joint just across the road too.

The only downside was the breakfast. I realize the breakfasts that are included in such places are usually quite basic, but this was the worst I have every experienced. No fruit. There were two tiny, blueberry muffins that looked stale - no other muffins are baking. So made waffles from the machine.

Really not clean the sheets had white stains on the top and that disturbed us. But the man at the front desk was very kind! He was the only good part of the stay.

Great location and great staff!! Very cute hotel with very spacious rooms and comfortable beds. Great basic amenities and they give you cold bottled water when you check in and out! That was soo sweet! The carpets are stained, but you can see the effort they take in keeping them vacummed and attempting to remove stain (honestly they should take carpets out). Cute room decor as well. Emergency exit plans need updating to match some room numbers. Overall, I'd definitely stay again!

Room was very clean. Comfortable king size bed! Just needs a bit updating on the exterior. Check in staff member very warm and friendly and informative about the surrounding area.

Very convenient location - close to several restaurants/shops. Friendly, helpful staff/management who are very accommodating. Clean and comfortable with complimentary bottles of water when you check in (and as requested) - definitely a nice touch.
