This use to be my favorite hotel to stay at whenever I had business in this area of MI. It has been over a year since i had business in the area and was so sad to see the deterioration of this lovely hotel. The doors to the 2 rooms I purchase never fully shut unless you pulled or pushed on them an issue that the hotel staff is aware of. The key to one room would not work, after talking to the front desk their answer was jiggle the handle and pull up on the handle once you place the card in. Again, the staff knows this is an issue and all door issues could be a dangerous situation. One of the first rooms we entered smelled of smoke and disinfectant cover up spray with carpet bunched up here and there. The staff was very accommodating and moved that room, only to open the door to another room full of bunched up carpet. But at least it didn’t smell. Those quaint fireplaces that you look forward to after a long day of work for relaxation, well they do not work.
The staff was kind, generous and helpful. They went beyond to make things better and want their customers to be happy. I got the impression that they have tried to get the issues I described fixed and no one is listening to them.
I hope corporate reads this and makes some major updates to this hotel the I regarded as lovely.

I was in a room for people with disabilities though not very disabled. The room would have been great for someone who was. Loved the lay-out and with children would have been nice. The only bad thing for me was the water in all areas about 9:30 A.M. was barely lukewarm. My husband barely stood in the shower a minute. I am hoping if you got up early it would have been better. Loved being able to set temp in the room at your exact preference. Felt like a foam mattress and we both got hot and a big reminder to put temp down at night. Mattress okay as long as we kept on our sides. The middle had a valley. The price at a level we could live with cold water for one morning. Desk people were very pleasant. If you don't expect luxury and can sleep with some noises it was a very convenient location for us with lots of stores and restaurants nearby. Liked the nice fridge and room arrangement. If you take food,take paper plates etc. Also no hair dryer. Vanity sink in separate room. It felt safe and clean and nicely decorated. Also good parking and location.

A lot noise in the hall from other visitors. Playing in the hall. Hard to sleep. Hall was trashed. Staff was quick to respond.

Just OK. Was one of the cheaper options for this area at this time. Always love having a full kitchen, fridge, microwave, etc. but the room definitely showed some wear and tear. The baseboard in the kitchen looked like it was just a piece of plastic landscaping border stapled in place. Pretty sure we saw dried blood spatter on the inside of the bathroom door. Housekeeping was very loud both mornings. The breakfast was just OK and the staff audibly swore in front of guests, including children. Even though it was in the 70s, the pool and hot tub were not open. They really need to have a way to indicate when listed amenities aren’t actually available. Would probably stay here again, but certainly wouldn’t be excited about it.

The staff was extremely kind and accommodating. The breakfast was a terrific perk. The rooms had full refrigerator, dishwasher, sink and an induction range.

Run down and dirty. Photos of rooms were taken a long time ago and do not reflect current condition of the property. Our room had stains on the couch, stains on headboard, stains on lampshades, the mirrors were rusting so badly that the edges were corroded off. The hallways filled up with marijuana smoke at night and the room across the hall was having a domestic dispute so loudly that it woke us up several times in the night. Felt unsafe walking around after dark. Not a typical experience for this hotel chain. Would not recommend.

It had everything I needed for my stay. The bad was comfortable, the towels were clean and soft. The freezer had an ice maker that worked quickly once I turned it on. There was plenty of storage. The staff was very friendly and answered the many questions I had about the area.

The room was very clean and neat. The staff were really friendly and helpful. My only complaint would be the TV cable service was not great. The remote barely worked. Not sure if it was the cable service or what. Other than that our stay was great! I would highly recommend this hotel.

We have used this hotel for years when visiting area. It’s older and has seen some wear in hallways but rooms were clean and easy walking to shops and food.

This one disappointed me. The staff was great which I’d like to point out - but the disappointment is in the details.
Opening the fridge smelled like getting hit in the face by a dead animal. I’m not exaggerating, it smelled exactly like that despite looking sparkling clean.
Again, not exaggerating, this was the worst TP I’ve ever used in my life. It falls apart and sticks to your body on contact. Plan on spending time picking it off and wondering if you missed some. I yearned for that sand papery stuff you find in most public restrooms. Pray you don’t have to go #2 or menstruate.
All the pillows were the same super loose feathery ones that you have to smash around to see if you can pile them all into a ball that will hold your head up a bit.
Definitely never staying again.

The hotel was filthy! They allowed guests to smoke weed inside, the smell was overwhelming. The pool area was so filthy that we couldn't even utilize the pool...which was the main reason for our stay.
We rented a 2 bedroom with living area, there was a water leak in the living room area that the hotel refused to respond to despite numerous calls for assistance. So we couldn't even use that room for fear the ceiling would cave in.
