Comfortable clean accommodation with really good food available in the pub restaurant

For the price, it offers the best value accommodation for my needs.

Quiet bedroom

Room clean and comfortable but there was an event evening in the bar / Restaurant and a limited menu that was not aware of when booking ( day before arrival) would have been nice to have been informed of this event before arrival

If you want luxury, pay luxury prices. If you want comfort and essentials at a reasonable price then this is for you. The lovely staff and great food the pub has to offer is an absolute bonus. We had dinner and breakfast and both were delicious, great value for money and relaxed. Parking is plentiful - i didn't use the wi-fi or visit the surrounding area so cannot comment If youre looking for somewhere to rest your head for a night or two then i can wholeheartedly recommend the crown inn.

Excellent room and service, really good value for money

Very basic accommodation bathroom very small shower tiles black in between Disappointed breakfast didn’t start until 10am so couldn’t wait that long

The check in was awful the woman receptionist ( although theres no actual reception) was awful, she didnt say hellp, please or Thankyou her attitude was awful you cannot greet guests this way. The room given was a disabled room everything too low toilet had no toilet seat, the bathroom itself was awful i went to supermarket and brought cleaning products and air freshners the mould in the room and bathroom was awful This could be a great hotel if a litte work was done painting and decorating, the bar staff were really friendly though and room could have been better if it was not disabled access.. Ive stayed in over 500 hotels in the world and my reviews are based on honest experience, 2/10. Really requires staff who know how to address guests and smile it costs nothing to smile and be polite

Good location friendly and helpful staff

Disappointing but I suppose you get what you pay for. Room was tired, bed uncomfortable but appeared clean. Bathroom needs TLC. Food was excellent although service was a little challenging at times. I had a room over the courtyard which is adjacent to a busy road. Lots of noise. Tried to drown it out with the TV but the TV reception went from OK to non existent.

Extremely flexible when booking in, I required to book in early (10.00 AM) as my circumstances changed. The staff very kindly accommodated this request without any issues, saving me a lot of stress and worry. Room very clean and bed comfortable. If I could suggest a fan for the room as it was very hot at the time of staying, other than that would happily stay again.

Decent room in an annexe to the pub. Perfectly clean and acceptable with a good shower. Would certainly go back

Extremely helpfully and kindly staff. When i told them that i would be late arriving, nothing was too much . Room spotless, ensuite too. Well appointed, towels spotless and lovely and soft. First class. Well worth a visit. Great value too. Thank you to everyone.

The Crown stay was for one night before travelling on to meet family further away. It was clean and basic staff was friendly and efficient also room was ready early. Pub was good for food and drink very reasonably priced and excellent portions

I was in room 3 the bathroom had black mould on the tiles absolutely dirty the carpet in bedroom was dirty I walked around in my socks after shower the bottom of my socks where filthy also never changed bedding or towels and did not replace tea or coffee as only had one teabag . I was there for three nights.dirtyest hotel ever. Will never stop there again

A good one night stop close to Arkells Brewery for the start of the MG100 road run. Great atmosphere in the pub with good food menu and daily specials. Pleasant room.

Excellent for the price and convenient for my needs. The toilet flush is very weak and requires attention but that would be my only negative. Thanks for the stay.

Staff were fantastic very helpful and friendly, food in restaurant was beautiful and good value for money, rooms were very dated, bed was uncomfortable but the room was clean

The staff were friendly and helpful, a good selection of beers, I particularly liked the Arkell 3B. Good pub food are reasonably priced.

Great accommodation and lovely food

Excellent and extremely clean. A lamp in the room would have been better rather than using the ceiling lights. The wifi code to be added to the in-room note.

I was made to feel very welcome, all the staff at The Crown Inn were friendly and helpful. The room was clean, tidy and comfortable, and very good value for money. I would definitely book again.

Really quiet, very warm, free wifi, and a real bath! 5 minutes walk from Aldi and 10 minutes walk from the bus stop, large car park for drivers. The housemaids only come in to clean if you want to and they work in twos, which I think is a really good idea (google Sofitel DSK). Will definitely stay there again if I need to.

Good place to stay for short stay if don't mind being out of centre of town. Breakfast wasn't option as had to leave before start serving at 10am, apart from that place is pleasant enough.

No the best, having recently moved out of the town and going to return on a monthly basis for work commitments. I though I would support local as it is close to where I lived for more than 30 years. Arrived after a 3 hour drive, unable to get anything to eat, they stopped cooking 10 minutes earlier. The entrance you are greeted with thread bear carpet, that set the tone. The room felt dirty, chair was so dirty stained and really not pleasant. Cushion displayed on bed was so smelly and was only fit for the bin... No details on wifi access had to ask in the bar. Even the choice of coffee was limited to decaf.. good job I had my own. The notice in the bathroom said guests staying more that on night to place towels in the bath if you want them changed, good job didn’t as there was no daily cleaning relaying on customers to request things.. It felt as though there were going to be doing me a favour rather that offering a customer service.

The people were lovely, the price was great and the room felt generally very clean. on the negative side, the sealant around the bath had black mould growth in the corners, and the door key was very difficult to operate. The counterpane had some marks on it, but didn't feel it was "dirty" in any way. None of this would stop me from staying again, and I'm sure I will, But resolving the couple of tiny details would be inexpensive, and go a long way to changing the review from OK to great.

I have always stayed in hotels previously but was blown away how good the Crown Inn was. Quality character building I was given a large double room with high ceilings and exposed beams. A real character place. Very quiet to easy parking and friendly staff. Quick checkin and was shown the room. Many thanks All.

Very friendly and efficient staff

Stayed here 2 nights , in room 9 with the 4 poster bed , once on 27th Sept, and then on 5th Oct. Lovely room , lovely and friendly staff , would definitely say again if passing through Swindon . Must make a quick shout out to the lovely lady customer who when I arrived actually gave me her meal as the as the kitchen had closed just before I arrived . She revived my faith in human nature , lots of love , Allen x
