Bulawayo Central Lodge

The owner went out of his way to ensure our comfort, offeriing to supply local cash for dinner (there is a cash crisis here) and drove us to the bus depot at no charge when our taxi didn't arrive. CouldnT have asked for a nicer host.

We enjoyed our stay! The owner/manager was very friendly and helpful, going out of his way to send us transportation info in advance, and offering useful info about the city once we got there. The other staff members were likewise nice. The room was a bit worn, but large, clean and very comfortable. No AC, but plenty of cross-ventilation with a good fan, and lots of light. Walking distance to the town center and various dining options.

The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean, even if somewhat basic. There was a problem with the water pressure, and the owner allowed us to use the shower in another room (only slightly better). Despite this we enjoyed our stay and benefitted from the help of the owner. He was Extremely helpful and nice, and is more than willing to go the extra mile. Given the difficulties of traveling in Zimbabwe, I would recommend the hotel mainly because of his help!

The hotel was closing down. The staff was excellent! Made telephone calls for me and offered personal wifi. The hotel had no working wifi and the electric bill was paid only just before it started to get dark. I had no concerns, because the staff was EXCELLENT! The location is great for taking the train. The staff i cannot say enough about them. They made the stay acceptable. Without them i would certainly left.
