This great old place was a lot of fun to explore and enjoy. The two historic mansions, the old carriage house "Garage" bar, and Spaulding Pub were all places of friendly activity and good food. The extensive grounds on the banks of the Cochecho river were pleasant and cool on a warm summer day. And just a few doors away is the Hanson Pines park nature preserve with a three quarter mile loop through an old growth white pine forest, all right near the center of town. It was amazing.

This is a beautiful historic property in downtown Rochester New Hampshire. I really enjoyed my stay and my room was super nice. My only complaint is that they have either rubber or plastic sheets to protect the mattress on the bed and that makes for a very hot and sweaty night. Did not sleep well for that reason, otherwise everything else was fantastic!

Loved this property! Keep in mind, its a restored historical property and as such there are quirks ( creaky floors, noise travels, tiny retrofitted shower stall) but the charm is phenomenal. Staff were amazing and friendly and room was immaculate. We would definitely return.
