great stay! room was nice and clean! would definitely stay at this hotel again. hotel was located in very nice area with walkable food options.

No towels, no toiletries We asked for towels several times Our room smelled awful, musky, just had this awful stench. There were crumbs on the bed when we got there. Under the pillow, under the comforter,’crumbs everywhere. We asked for someone to come clean several times. We waited hours for a towel. We were asking every thirty minutes. Finally got four close to midnight.

No towels, bath mat ,trash bags, soap or hand towels in room when checked in. Went to front desk and they could only find 1 towels and nothing else. 2 guys on a business trip and no towels or soap. Phones not working either

The actual hotel is nice, in a good location, and comfortable. The staff that check us in was a headache. He 'did not realize' that i already prepaid for two rooms for two nights. So when my friend checked in, he took her card not only for the incidental deposit, but charged her for a night. Then when we checked in 30 minutes later he realized that the rooms were already paid for. He stated that he would have to wait for a manager for the return. The next night he said the same thing, but some reason charged our card for another night. Did not realize until after check out that he charged us again. Check out person was nice but noticed no notes about our return like there was suppose to be. Called two days later and was told the manger was in a meeting. They told my friend there was no manger at that location and she had to call corporate for a refund. The hotel did call me back for our card number for the refund. They told us both that the incidental hold takes 6 weeks to drop off, which seems excessive. Definitely a headache dealing with. That same check in guy also told us the wrong times for breakfast and we overheard him telling another couple the wrong times as well. We also were just handed keys with no room number and had to ask him to actually tell us what room we were in. Thankful the rooms were clean, modern, and overall nice. The shower did have some spots they missed while cleaning, but overall not bad. It is close to downtown and South park which is a plus.

The service was excellent and accommodating. Rooms were clean but the walls were paper thin, I could clearly hear someone snoring next door, there was yelling all night and the bed was warped in the middle which was not ideal as a stomach sleeper. Fire alarm(?) blinked flashes of light all night. Price was fine and the pet fee not outrageous but I would look for another hotel in the future.

I will stay here again next time I'm in Charlotte.

Significant construction

Front desk low on keys. Main floor areas and room floors were sticky and room had an odor.

The stay was good. Walked in without a reservation. Looked on line and saw a price of $86. The person at the front desk said $135.00, and said they may not have a room available. Said I would be better off booking through a 3rd party. Went out to my car and booked it through a 3rd party. When I got my email bill it was for $85.00. I already paid online through a 3rd party. Went to the desk to find out why. She said not to check out, that she saw it and was working on it. Everything was clear. Now I’m showing my $50.00 deposit is still processing, plus a charge for 35.98 still processing as well.

Affordable and nicely decorated

When I got to my room it was ice cold. I turned on the heat. It got the room up to comfortable level but I woke up at 3 am with the heater off again. The soaps in the showers were empty or barely there. The safety lock was broken. I feel like the room shouldn’t have been given to me.

Front staff is very helpful, except the dining area Is dirty , nobody clean

Nice, affordable hotel

I have sent in a review on a most recent stay of 3 nights. My major complaint is for Nanette, the receptionist when we arrived from San Diego flights. She was rude and basically yelled “identification and card” three times as we entered the building. I mentioned this to other staff members and they just rolled their eyes and apologized for her behavior. Get this. I said “I am looking forward to your breakfast”. She said “It is not available”. I said “Your advertisement says you do”. She said “We have breakfast but it is not available”. Then I said so you do not have breakfast and she just repeated her last comment. She should not be representing Holliday Inn Express nore Expedia. Dr. Don M. Herron

The hotel feels modern and new and extremely clean. The room was quiet and comfortable and check in was quick and easy. Would definitely recommend as this was one of the nicest holiday inn express locations I’ve stayed at.

Perfect location for anyone visiting Ballantyne area.Beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms clean. We thought the cost was reasonable because they offered a full breakfast which we thoroughly enjoyed our first morning. Then their oven broke. They could have simply abbreviated the options and offered cold cereal, yogurt, fruit, toast, bagels, and pancakes, juice, and coffee. Nope. Nothing but coffee and short supply of that. I know you can't predict equipment malfunctions but better decisions should have been made. Didn't ruin our time there but we'll be leery of any future bookings.

We booked a suite and Rooms were not stocked with towels or Kleenex and half rolls of toilet paper. Breakfast was not served for the two days we stayed there with no notification that it wouldn’t be available when we checked in. Staff at the desk was tough to find, and they refused compensation or a call to management to voice concerns. They said the oven was broken and had been for several days prior, but not even juice or cold items were served. We were super frustrated with this experience and having to go out for breakfast was an added expense and delayed our morning plans. Would not recommend this hotel if this is how it is managed.

There was no breakfast either morning, only one wash cloth and face towel in the room and the front desk told me to come get them downstairs. There was mold in the shower.

They advertise breakfast. However, I stayed 3 days and no breakfast was available to anyone. No juice etc. they should offer us a refund of some sort.

I have stayed here around 30 nights this year. I have even brought my employees there for meetings and booked rooms and conference room. So it used to be good....but no more. The staff is rude. Customer service is terrible. Wifi sucks. And then they checked me in and gave me a room/key that somebody else was in. Lucky that i wasnt shot. I wont stay here again. I need to find a better place.

Breakfast was amazing (those cinnamon buns *****). Very pleasant and attentive staff!

I would stay there any time I’m in the Charlotte area , very clean and very friendly staff . The only negative thing I can say is that both Saturday and Sunday mornings at 9am and then at 8:30am the fire alarms went off. Other than that our stay was great.
