The Old Cannon Brewery

Very convenient location, 9mins walk from station and 7mins walk to start of shopping area. Room was pleasant with lovely large bathroom. Clean bedlinen and comfortable bed. Shower was excellent and spacious. Nice to have coffee machine in room. Breakfast was very good and done to order. My only issues were that to access my room i had to use an outdoor fire escape and walk across roof - this was safe and easy to do but not ideal with luggage, nor was it welcoming. There was a indoor staircase near my room and I couldn't understand why a few hotel guests weren't allowed to use this. There were only a few rooms that had to use fire escape, there were others not affected by this arrangement. The other issue was lack of comfortable chair(s) in the room. Sitting on bed to watch TV isn't very comfortable after a while as the height of TV hurts your neck.

Excellent stay - the staff were lovely, great breakfast and a clean, light and airy room. We also ate in the restaurant in the evening which was excellent. Overall, highly recommended

This is a wonderful Bed and Breakfast hotel with comfortable rooms, great breakfasts and tasty beer! Staff is helpful and friendly. We participated in a fun quiz night on Wednesday evening. Also had a great meal for a small family gathering in the restaurant. We highly recommend this hotel.

A great find just off the centre of town, breakfast was plenty full
