Downs Hotel

Staff were excellent

Rotten floor boards in bathroom

The room was clean, modern and comfortable. Breakfast was OK. Would be nice if we were of a fresh orange juice with our hot drink.

The outside of Hotel needs a update i.e paintng and paper rubbish outside the building by the decking sitting area.

The hotel is largely a pub with plenty of space for dining and rooms in a side area. The public space was comfortable and airy, not much to look at and the surrounding area likewise not much to look at. However, the staff were all excellent. Young and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. They certainly served with a smile too. The room (number 2) was booked as a twin but it was rerally a family room: 2 twin beds with a comfortable sofa bed. The room had everything you could want including a very mini fridge for milk / water, a coffee machine and kettle with tea/coffee supplied. The bathroom was modern and clean - we advised the housekeeper that the sink was slow to drain, the shower-head could do with a decalc and that the fan wasn't functioning. They were all in hand, did not spoil our stay, but could do with being prioritised. All in all we found the hotel room very comfortable, the food reasonable but the service above all EXCELLENT. Thank you.

As mentioned above whilst the bathroom was modern and clean, we advised the housekeeper that the sink was slow to drain, the shower-head could do with a decalc and that the fan wasn't functioning. They were all in hand, did not spoil our stay, but could do with being prioritised.
