Residhome Quai d’Ivry

The resident is perfectly located for a stop at the outskirts of Paris, so that driving through dense and annoying traffic jam in the center can be avoided. The parking and room conditions are relatively good. Not to complain. Walking to the tourist attractions is about 1,5 hr, but I don’t mind. You can just stroll along the river Saint.

Modern apartment , very clean, helpful staff, safe storage for our Bikes . Good stop on our cycle trip through Paris

The breakfast was phenomenal, all 100% organic, loved it. The room was super clean, new and equipped with all necessities. The train and metro stations are 20 minutes away and you can get to the centre very quickly

The area of the hotel is a bit sketchy and there is a garbage processing/ burning facility right across the street. It smells quite bad and the views are not great

Things to like: very pleasant modern boutique vibe in the small lobby area, offering complimentary flavoured water (and croissants later in day). Excellent level of cleanliness. Most staff obliging and friendly - some more than others. Very nice male receptionist on in the evening. Organic breakfast. Good sized room with comfortable bed and pillows, plus functional bedside tables with adjustable reading lights, usb charge points etc. Air con. and very small but useful kitchenette.

Middling: room felt soulless with no cheerful pictures, hard (vinyl?) floor, table too small for keys, phones, brochures, and usual travel paraphernalia. Same with the otherwise well equipped bathroom, but instead of drawers under sink it would be better to have some shelving where his/her toiletries could all sit out. Poor: getting hold of some fresh milk for UK tea drinkers depended on who was at reception. On day of arrival before I could buy any it was reluctantly supplied in a miniature jug. View was of big factory belching out steam from tall steel chimneys, and a delivery yard for lorries. So not scenic. Worse: After checking out I forgot something so returned to reception where I suddenly found myself being interrogated over whether I had had breakfast, how many, and if so where were my receipts. I said I had two x two breakfasts and had paid for them already. “M” couldn’t find the receipts and basically accused me of not paying (if I didn’t have that intention I wouldn’t have admitted the breakfasts surely). While I emptied my bags “M” found one receipt and after another 10 mins the other but not before I had emptied all my case to find my receipts. I was tearful by then as I felt treated like a criminal. “M” looked at me from across the lobby and said “sorry”. Not exactly my idea of a heartfelt apology. I just repacked and left. To add: the only food my companion and I ate that same day was breakfast from the hotel. My friend ate some cold buffet meat and croissant which I did not. A few hours later she was feeling nauseous and by the time we caught our train she was sick twice and not well for a couple of days. I cannot say for sure it was the breakfast - which appeared to be fresh and kept well - but on the other hand it was the only food she had eaten.
