Kichijoji Excel Hotel Tokyu

From our arrival to our departure this hotel exceeded all of our expectations. The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean and the breakfast was always delicious, with a lot of Japanese and Western style options. The location is also brilliant, there are direct trains into central Tokyo from Kichijoji station 5 minutes away and the area is vibrant and fun, with numerous shops and eateries right on your door step. However, what makes this hotel so great is the staff. Everyone we encountered went above and beyond to help us and were so friendly. As a result, we felt truly valued as guests.

Nothing

This hotel is so perfect, I was travelling with my 9 year old son, it was central close to the train station, close to shops and parks, not too touristy and with the most incredible bakery and restaurant just one floor down as well as bowling and 1 min walk from a myriad of thrift shops, department store the bed was comfortable and the amenities good we didn't need anything, the room was average size not too small for the two of us, the breakfast was excellent great choice, we shipped our luggage here from another hotel and it was put into our room for us.

The only downside was that there was no laundry facilities which would have been handy to do when we got back from all our activities and its about a 45 min drive from the activities in Shibuya ( which is fine as the train station is just there, but its not right in the centre of the main tourist district - this is actually a plus for me but just highlight that.

The size of the room is relatively spacious compared to other Tokyo hotels. The staff members were nice and kind. The location is great - vivid neighborhood, close to the train station and the park.

The ventilation in the room was poor. But it is a minor disadvantage.

Good location. 15 minutes walk to the electronics district and 5 minutes to local tube station.

Room was tied and lots of stains on the carpet. No amenities at the hotel and very small.
