* Modern and spacious room; The property is a heritage manor/hacienda - sturdy old building. The floor that I stayed on has 9 rooms - you can see a big ballroom that houses 4-5 of these rooms. * Nice view of the river and the hill on the other side. * Walking distance via Rua da Ilha to Joaquim António de Aguiar (and all the shops/restaurants) nearby. However, it is a steep downhill and walk down a long set of stairs. Climbing back up can be strenuous for those with weak legs/knees. * If you walk on the other side of Rua da Ilha, the University of Coimbra, its large square, the famous library are very near. * The Old Cathedral is just round the corner. * Nice kitchenette for quick cooking, hot water, toast, etc. * Only 2 Km from Coimbra-B. You can take taxi (around 8Euro) from the station, or take the U1 bus to Portagem stop next to Coimbra and climb up the hill (if luggage is not heavy). * Going up and down the hill was nice due to the panoramic views. * Free WiFi works well! * Limited amount of parking available. Convenient.

* No elevator - rooms are on the second floor. You have to carry luggage up and down the stairs. * The room that I stayed in had no power outlet. There is one for TV - which is high up. That didnt work for my charger. There is one inside the bathroom - had to use it. Not very convenient. * No breakfast in the hotel. However, there are many cafes within walking distance. * It is more like a AirBnB - not like a hotel where you can expect staff to be around 24x7. If you prefer a hotel on flat ground, then this is not for you.

We had car trouble and staff were very helpful to get repairs.

Comoda la posizione e parcheggio disponibile in strada. Bella la struttura d’epoca. Accoglienza gentile anche se è stato difficile comunicare in quanto lo staff non conosceva l’inglese.

All’arrivo ci hanno mostrato la stanza vista città prenotata dicendoci che c’era forte odore di fogna e ne avevano un’altra più piccola senza vista disponibile, quindi abbiamo deciso di accettare. Purtroppo anche in quest’ultima abbiamo iniziato a sentire odore di fogna proveniente dal bagno. Il cancello da oltrepassare per parcheggiare nel cortile è veramente strettissimo quindi non fateci affidamento.
