ELG Contessa Boutique Hotel

The hotel is in excellent location within walking distance from all the hot spots. Overall clean room with good air conditioning.

The Check-in location is not in the same place as the hotel. This information was not provided until we paid the room and the stay has been confirmed. The hotel doesn’t have elevator which make it difficult if travelling with big suitcases or disabilities. The bathroom shower heads in room number 6 are dirty with signs of mold! The big shower head is rusted and the small one is having mold. The lock of the room is broken - so you can’t lock from the inside. There was no telephone or anyone in the lobby in case you need assistance of any matter - rather you have to walk to the “main” hotel reception in a different street.

We stayed in Room 6 and really liked it. The room was clean and spacious with lovely high ceilings and a beautiful view over the sea and port. The location is excellent, just off the harbour and very central for exploring Chania. Two of the ladies we dealt with at reception were also really lovely and welcoming.

The bathroom has a window looking directly into the bedroom, so it doesn’t feel very private, which we found a little strange. There are also quite a lot of stairs to Room 6 and no lift, although this didn’t bother us. Check-in and reception are actually in another hotel a short walk up the hill, so it feels more like rooms than a traditional boutique hotel. One of the younger reception staff was also not particularly friendly.

Meravigliosa struttura in mezzo al centro della città con vista sul porto. Eccezionale la stanza posta in una viuzza stretta ma di un palazzo antico recentemente restaurato di nome "La contessa". Era le chiavi bisogna rivolgersi all'hotel "El greco" poco distante, con personale gentile e cordiale.

Essendo un palazzo antico, le scale sono molto ripide e non adatte a un disabile, ma tutto è fantastico

The location was great, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and nicely decorated. Other than that, the property was lovely and we had a pleasant stay.

Unfortunately, it did not have a window. This was a little disappointing, as the room without a window was not shown in the photos of the property, so we were not aware of this when booking.
