Do not accept room 208. I didn't get any sleep with the door opening and closing. I had to skip a breakfast business meeting. I booked a room with one king and got one with 2 queens. Disappointed

My wife and I decided to go for a last-minute off season 2 night staycation. We were put in a standard room on the third floor with a view over the roof and rear parking lot. We did mention we were staying two nights and have been regulars at the Chateau Vic for many many years. We requested an upper floor room but were told it was unavailable unless we were willing to pay for an upgrade. Clive’s, their amazing cocktail bar and a favourite destination of ours, was closed for renovations. We didn’t know this at the time of booking. Room itself was clean as were the pool and hot tub areas. Bedding was a bit too “polyestery” for our taste and the housecoats were a bit old and tragic. Front desk staff not super friendly or service oriented. Next visit to Victoria we will be trying out a new hotel.

The hotel is amazing and located in the middle of the city with many restaurants and attractions minutes away. The staff were accommodating to our needs and very friendly. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and clean. The pool was great and the hot tub was amazing. The views from the 18th floor are breathtaking. There is an additional parking fee of 20$ a night but that was a small price to pay in that area. They also offer a shuttle service but we did not use it this time. We plan to book another family vacation here again it was great.

The staff are wonderful and amazing attention to detail. We were upgraded to a better room. Couldn’t have been better for my daughters birthday! Have stayed at other hotels nearby but have not had the level of service as we have here.

Noisy room
My room can hear the sound coming from the laundry room. I can heard the dryer tumbling sound in the early morning.

Be careful when you book through Expedia. You do not always get the room booked. The hotel says that it is a separate or special request when booking through Expedia.
We had booked a suite with a king size bed, and got a suite with a queen size bed in the bedroom and a queen size bed in the living room. It was fine, but not what we felt we booked.

From check-in and onward, everything was top notch. We had dinner in the restaurant on the top floor, and it was fantastic.
We were in town to see a show at the MacPherson Theatre and had a complimentary ride to the venue.

The noise coming from the next door room was so transparent they might have well been in our room. Staff did little to nothing to fix the problem which carried on until 4am

The property is in great location, central and easy walk to everything. The staff was exceptional, responsive and quick. The pool and hot tub was okay. This room worked for a family of four with two teenagers as everyone had their own bed. However, the rooms are rundown; paint peeling, poor air quality, the sofa bed blanket felt like sandpaper, wallpaper ripped, evident patch jobs throughout the suite and an air conditioning unit that was loud and inefficient. It has the making for a great hotel but needs some TLC.

Our room was pretty hot. I appreciated that we could open our sliding door to cool it off. The beds were not very comfortable and the pillows were hard. The location is great and all the staff were very nice.

We arrived in the area way before the check in time. When we came to the front desk to ask if we can leave the car in the property so we can walk around, they not only let us, they also allowed us to check in early. The staff are very professional and helpful — they also found the ring I lose in the room. 10/10 would stay with them again.

Very pet friendly place to stay! When we checked in they had a goodie bag for our dog, dog bed and blanket. I expected the room to be a little less nice than usual since it was a pet room, but it was newly decorated and immaculate. The employees were all so friendly. Highly impressed!

Very nice, big room with a view. Lovely restaurant on top floor. Wonderful staff. My husband has an electric scooter. The staff looked after putting it away and plugging it in at night and a phone call in the morning had it waiting at the desk!!! WOW!

I grew up in Victoria, B.C. before the Chateau Victoria was built. It is on land that was called "The Parrot House" when I was a teen. It was a beautiful old Victorian era home that a person willed to her Parrot. The home continued to exist as the Parrot's place of refuge for many years. Eventually a deal was made to sell the house to develop a hotel. It has always been a primo spot, beautifully designed and maintained, at a reasonable price. Love it and glad it to see it is still a beautiful place to stay.

We were upgraded to 10th floor with amazing view without asking for it because the front staff read on our notes it is our 10th year anniversary.

There was dirt on back of bathroom door- not a scuff because I wiped part of it to see if it was dirt or not,. Would have liked to see two water bottles in room. Beds were comfortable but room was too hot and we couldn’t adjust the thermostat.
Nice room though.
