I've stayed here roughly twice. A year since 2017 while visiting my old home state
Always nice if not elegant accommodations
This time was different....it was a little less clean but not significantly so
My main issue was the response when a smoke / carbon alarm went off......not a big deal really. However when I called the front desk to report I was told the maintenance man comes in at 11:00. And I should take the battery out (the detetor was hard wired by the way)
To there credit I was able to change rooms . After I requested it. It was not suggested by the front desk attendant.
I hate to leave negative reviews but in this case if guest safety wasn't a priority it doesn't speak well for the Red Roof
I'll be staying elsewhere next trip to NJ

It was good. The gentleman who checked me in was very kind and polite. I was charged 142.99 and I was told it was 124. Not sure where the extra twenty came from. He let me know I can get a copy of the receipt to ease my mind. What I did not like was the aggressive woman who knocked on my door at 11:22am telling me check out was at 11 and that I need to open my shades so that it indicated I was leaving. First of all, the phone is the polite way to reach out to a room guest. Banging on my door like you’re the cops isn’t. I had my purse on and my bag packed on the bed bc I was literally about to leave. Her attitude and demeanor was very hostile. Shouldn’t be in hotel management. That was the worst feeling I have ever experienced at a hotel when leaving. Not to mention it was my first solo stay at a hotel in years. Guy in am great woman following morning AWFUL.

I got a new dog few months ago so have been using Red Roof Inns because of their "pets stay free" policy. THIS Red Roof Inn is a LOT nicer than the other one nearby. WiFi worked properly and it was quiet. (There was not one person yelling or carrying on outside. Which is a nice change from some other hotels in this area lol )
The woman who checked me in was very nice...and also quick to get me into my room.
I'm not sure if this hotel offers a key drop for checkout. Guess I will ask next time. Ended up having to leave super early in AM. So just cleaned up room + left the key on table in my room to not bother anyone in office.

Overall the stay was satisfactory as it was one night. I’ve stayed here many times and it was always wonderful but this time was a tad different….in between the beds the carpet was soaking wet and the room reeked of mildew. As soon as we stepped inside you could smell it to the point we gagged. It was late and we just wanted to sleep but we had to crack open the door due to the smell most of the night!

Room was fine, it got the job done. Entire laminate floor was sticky. Mentioned and asked to have it mopped and it was still sticky. I presume they used too much soap.
There was also a smell. Not overly strong or bad but not enjoyable either. Would stay again if I didn’t have the money for a better hotel.

Beds worn out after turning lights out . Less than 5 minutes had bugs crawling on us and bed . Asked for refund and went to another hotel

First off the area doesnt look very safe, the lobby area has a very bad smell. The room was not clean, we had to clean thw bathroom ourselves to use it. When I told the front desk his response is "well I'm here alone and all i can do is tell house keeping when they come in, in the morning". The floor looked like it hasn't seen a vacuum in months, there was a 1/2 inch of dirt caked up on the hair dryer along with fuss lint hair dirt caked in the intake fan side. We had a long drive so could argue. Next day they came in changed sheets and towels no cleaning, the AC stop working, they came and looked at said cant be fixed right now so we'll change your room. We couldn't do the change at the time because we were on our way out to an event. We got in late we went to change rooms, and that room was worse than the 1 we were already in, the sheets, pillow cases all dirty, there was even a blood stain on the wall. Complained to front desk he said "I'll change your room again", we asked will you make sure its clean? His response "I'll give you a key and you can go and see for yourself". Being it was late and we were tired we moved back to the original room. Asked to speak to a manager but was told there are no managers working on the weekends. Just Garbage

The folks working the front desk were very friendly and helpful.
However, this hotel is the type of place people live in. It’s not the type of place you want to stay the night in.
When I got to my room I went to use the bathroom and when I lifted up the lid on the toilet someone had left me a deuce as a present. That told me they didn’t clean the room prior to my stay.
The shampoo bottles were empty but by that point I knew I wasn’t going to take a shower there.
I changed, left to go to a function. When I returned I made sure to jam a chair under the door knob. When I turned on the light I noticed that on the light above the mirror were blood stains and pieces of person. I’m pretty sure there was a fight or murder in the room.
I ended up checking out early and getting the hell out of there. Stay at your own risk.

Both rooms stank they had hair on the sheets the rugs stunk terrible and was not vacuumed the toilet when flushed seemed like it was not gonna go down the shower water did not go down bugs were seen flying roaches were seen water was on the floor when we first walked in the first room they had to come fix the microwave and fridge people were outside making noise for a long period of time early in the morning we could t sleep horrible experience worst experience I ever had staying in a motel room packed to go to another establishment and the clerk offered to change our room which she did and it was the same thing

Nothing in the description or the photos (unless you had a lot bigger screen than I have) indicated that the rooms were outward-facing, not down an inside hallway. That is a safety issue for me, so I would not stay there.

After the AC, TV and general overall shabbiness night clerk stated that room should have never been given to us. However no options were provided.

The property was not as advertised. When booking, we expected bare bones based on rating but this was beyond that. We checked out within 30 minutes. The rooms were dated and unclean. The bathroom fixtures were broken and leaking. There was pubic hair in the sheets, the doors did not lock, despite having a no smoking room, the room smelled of smoke, social services were also in and out of the property checking on clients. We paid for the room in full 6 mo. in advance, but the hotel claimed they never received payment. Both Expedia and Red Roof have done nothing to resolve our concerns as neither party have taken responsibility for misleading the customer. I will not be booking with either company in the future.

Not so good. Dirty,, bed bugs, fridge didn’t work, half of room lights were out. Did I mention bed bugs? I’m having to fumigate my bags and my truck.
All this for almost 300$ for one night.

We initially booked with Quality Suites and when we got there we found it under construction with no notification or cancellation with our booking. Mind you this was at 9 pm. We booked with red roof last minute and was able to check in that same night. We love how easy and convenient the process was.

I was disappointed with the stay as I had read many good reviews.
The hotel itself is outdated. Towels had dark spots and for two people we only received two very small towels. The toilet would only flush if you held the handle down for an extended period of time and the bath tub wouldn't drain. Also the bathtub felt like it was a soft bottom and was curved (slipped in the shower because of this, but caight myself). We had equipment that we needed to charge and the night stand plugs didn't work. I went to plug my equipment into the wall and the outlet pushed into the wall.
One of the side rugs was damp as well. The first morning we went to go get coffee and had left the vanity light on. When we returned 10 min later the room had no power. The man at the front desk was very nice and went to hit the fuse for our room. We were in the room and whe. He hit the fuse a loud pop and arc flash happened.the smoke detectors didn't look like they worked.
Because of all these things we decided tl actually head home a night early.

I didn’t stay, after seeing the room - which was disgusting. Smelled like smoke, peeling wall paint, dirty towels and toilet. I immediately left.

We left. The room was horrendous. The paint was peeling off the walls. The bed was terrible. We went to another hotel. Pathetic hotel with long-term tenants residing here... If you are looking for a comfortable bed for one night, it's not here. They argued with me about a refund at first but then accommodated the request because we had only checked in 10 minutes prior. This hotel is not acceptable on hotels.com standards and I am shocked that they let it maintain their rating.

It looked like the only thing that had been done was sheets and toiletries changed. Everything was dirty like it hadnt been mopped or wiped down for several stays.
Staff was nice, parking was easy, but the price wasnt worth it for how poor the state of the room was.

Terrible, terrible condition, room was damp, carpet was wet to the touch, dingy, crumby part of town. Thankfully there were no Bedbugs. A dump.

the hotel is run down filthy ouside and in. I picked up a wash clother to clean my face and it was full of someones hair from before. We didn't even take our shoes off until we got into bed and left as soon as we could in the morning. Awful place. Don't believe the pictures. Vert over priced considering the condition of the place

Stayed at Red Roof hotel and arrived at 12pm only to be told no check -ins till 3 pm.And this hotel in Tinton Falls,NJ is also housing individuals on public assistance and who knows what else.NEVER AGAIN!

Television and internet was not working. Front office said they were having a problem with multiple rooms having no tv or internet. Was told i could not get a complimetary nights stay or monitary compensation. Thats how you loose customers
