Albergo San Marco

Excellent facility, staff and location. Only 2 minute walk to St. Mark’s Piazza less than 10 minute walk to water taxi with porters available. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Room was good size. Restaurant served good food. We could have not been more pleased with this hotel. We would definitely stay here again.

Hotel is perfectly located right off Piazza San Marco but not noisy at all. Rooms are small but fine I just wonder about the need for a step up into bathroom and then into shower. Seems dangerous for older travelers like me. The air conditioning was not working well. At first i assumed the heat (it was 100 degrees) was pulling on capacity. What it was, was the windows. They needed to be air tight shut or the AC would turn off. And with the shift in Venices foundation we had to open and shut windows each night to get a few hours of AC. The staff should get 6 stars. Everyone from the chamber maids to dinner servers to front desk are top notch. I have to especially compliment the cleaning crew as i think i had a cranky face when the AC was failing and this petite woman was immediately there asking if she could help. THATS client attentiveness

We just spent 4 nights at Albergo San Marco and would definitely return if coming back to Venice. The location is perfect! 1 minute walk to St Mark’s square, 20 second walk to a grocery store. Breakfast included a good selection of hot and cold choices. I had my best meal of the trip (seafood pasta) at the hotel restaurant (you get a discount for eating there). The restaurant doesn’t have the quaint Italian feel but my food was great. Our room was clean, the bed and linens were comfortable and we had good water pressure. The hotel also has an elevator.
