The room was on the small side for 2, we had to shuffle around each other several times, and close the wardrobe door to be able to pass to the bathroom. The bathroom was modern and a good size, lovely big fluffy towels. Plenty of toiletries provided, but one little thing that was lacking-a block of soap was provided but no soap dish and nowhere to place it when wet as the washbasin was round without any flat part.
Breakfast was fine, not the biggest selection I've had in a 4 star hotel but enough to satisfy most people.
There was a nice lounge with a bar which we used for a nightcap, and an outside courtyard but we had to request for that to be opened.
Location was great, central and easy walk to everything in the centre.
The staff were friendly and helpful.

My wife and I stayed at the Prince Rupert Hotel for one night and we were delighted by its location (right in the centre of town), its cleanliness and the charming staff. We enjoyed an excellent breakfast there. We did find that our room and some of the hotel decoration was 'tired' and could do with a touch up - but that is a small quibble about a historic hotel and should not detract from our very enjoyable stay. Parking was relatively easy - we checked in at hotel reception and they directed us to their open-air car-park a few streets away (£10 per night). A word of warning!!!! The hotel is in the middle of a number of one-way streets and can be difficult to find by car. The hotel MUST be approached via Fish Street off Wyle Cop. Do NOT approach it via Church Street off St Mary's Street as Church Street is one-way - the wrong way. If you do happen to drive up Church Street the wrong way, then you must hope to meet a charming Civil Enforcement Officer who will, quite rightly, admonish you but, seeing your genuine contriteness and stress, may take pity on you and not give you a Penalty Charge Notice!

Fab location, excellent staff.
We had a comfortable, warm room overlooking quirky rooftops. The bed was a bit small for 2 but comfy & we slept well.
Breakfast was good, lovely coffee.
