I wanted so badly for this to be a lovely romantic stay, but sadly, the hotel was a strange mix of bad new updates and stangely situated furniture. The front desk staff was kind enough, but several times, we walked up mid day with a question and no one was to be found. Overflowing trash cans, non-operational jacuzzi and construction happening downstairs from 8 am. I wish they would have let us know ahead of time and we would have booked a lovely little place on the ocean in Moonstone Beach.

The room was clean and staff was friendly

The hotel was amazing except for the fact that it was under construction. It wasn’t listed on Expedia nor was it listed on the hotels website. I was notified once I checked in that there was construction and it was a Friday. I figured no construction would be happening over the weekend, I didn’t hear very much of it on Saturday but Sunday morning at 9 AM,I was woken up to very loud, banging and drilling. I believe in the room below me when I mentioned it to the front desk at checkout, they said, were you told at check-in and I said yes and they said oh we’re so sorry that it was disruptive, but we are under construction.

This is an expensive hotel given other hotels in the area. Note that the hotel is on the corner of highway 1 and there is limited view from the windows. The room itself is nice for sure, but at the price point, the location should be better or the room views.

We loved our stay! When we booked we were not notified that there were renovations going on. It didn’t matter as we did not encounter any problems or noise. No ocean view but the rooms were larger than expected, bathrooms were very large.

My husband and I needed rest after the crazy Holiday season. We booked at El Colibri and could not have been more pleased. This cute boutique hotel, exceeded our expectations.

Beautiful hotel, beautiful area. Hotel was very clean and kept up. Our view was of nature and a trail to the beach, which was stunning. A little cute town walking distance from our hotel! Can’t wait to be back.

Hotel was great and in a perfect location. Staff was friendly and professional. Will be returning for a longer stay.

Room 110: The staff were good, however the hotel needs help. Our bathroom sink fell into the cabinet while we were washing our hands, water all over. The seal broke I guess. They attempted a fix. Then no hot water at all in the shower, but warm water in the sink. Very odd. Minor things; the USB by the bed did not work. There was no body wash in the dispenser. We won’t stay there again, which is too bad because I really has potential.

This was a good hotel, staff was amazing. Our only complaint was the beds, so uncomfortable. Mattresses were hard as a rock.

Great place to stay

Upon arriving we were greeted by staff, who were all very polite. We were disappointed to see that the advertised “tap wall” consisted of one beer and one red and white wine. Not quite what we were expecting. None of the drinks ended up being very good. The hotel condition was more worn than I thought it would be, but the other amenities were as-advertised. Unfortunately, the room we were assigned had a view of the back parking lot dumpster and the gas station across the street, which was another bummer. I enjoyed the location and proximity to downtown Cambria and Moonstone Beach. Overall, our stay was mostly comfortable. I think we just prefer a hotel with more community amenities.

l gave us the worst room, walls are paper, thin can hear everything in the next room, I asked to be moved. Got a resounding no. There was rectal cream left out from the last guest. felt dirty. Wanted to leave , but it was late.

When you’re on the bottom floor near the reception you hear everything. The walls are thin. Also, they need new beds very uncomfortable.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room and the amenities were absolutely amazing for the price. Was a short but comfortable stay

Fantastic place! Hidden gem on hwy 1

The bed was incredibly hard. The shower was moldy. Check in was incredibly awkward & the receptionist barely gave us any information on the room or the hotel. Had high expectations but we won’t be back.

The fire alarm went off at 3:30am -- No fire just poor maintenance of the fire alarm in our room.

A quality hotel with very pleasant staff making for an enjoyable stay.

The staff was accommodating and friendly. Lisa was especially attentive and our stay was overall enjoyable and relaxing.

Really sweet hotel! Would definitely stay again! Quiet and peaceful. The bed isn’t luxury by any means that could be updated but other than that it was a nice stay.

Nice stay with steam room and outdoor jacuzzi

Cambria is such a gem. Our stay at El Colibri, was great. Property is clean and more than adequate. Right next to a 2.5 mile boardwalk and that wraps around the beach. Walking distance to downtown as well.

Great place and excellent service

El Colibri is a reasonable price for the location. It is walking distance to Moonstone Beach and to Cambria town. The rooms could use a little updating with fresh flooring but the bed linens were clean, the bathroom was nice. I really like the fireplace in the room. The common space is a little institutional- it could be warmed up with more modern and inviting vibe. It gives more of a cafeteria mood.

Excellent location near beach. Staff especially Lisa was very friendly. I think the breakfast could have been a bit better given the room rate.

The property and location are great, rooms are nice and spacious and staff was courteous. Right at the start of the walking path and walking distance to downtown, literally 1 traffic light away. I love how silent it is at night and the giant king size bed and goose down pillows were very comfortable ensuring a great nice of sleep. The ONLY issue we encountered was upon our arrival we were informed that the property had no Hot Water ☹️. Apparently there was some temporary plumbing issue and they couldn’t find an available plumber that afternoon. We were told that it would be fixed by morning. We were looking forward to using our specific King room with the jetted tub and felt a little cheated specially because this trip was for my wife to pamper and relax. Thankfully the hot water was fixed by next morning when we got up by 9am. On our 2nd night the jetted tub worked great and some very nice and aromatic body wash and shampoos were provided. Aside from the hot water issue we really liked and enjoyed this hotel and would stay again next time.
