Gulec Hotel & Spa - Special Category

La posizione dell'Hotel è eccezionale. Si trova a pochi passi dalla Moschea Blu e dalle altre attrazioni principali del centro storico di Istanbul. La camera è ampia così come il bagno. La colazione, sia dolce che salata, è servita all'ultimo piano con vista panoramica sul Bosforo. A pochi passi dall'hotel, nel tragitto verso la Moschea Blu, si raggiunge una delle strade principali dove passa la Metro. L'Hotel è dotato anche di Spa e centro massaggi che noi purtroppo per mancanza di tempo non abbiamo utilizzato.

My family really enjoyed the location, the warm hospitality, and the food. My parents were even kindly given a room upgrade, which made their stay even more special.

Everything was great.

The room was very spacious and comfortable and had a nice view. We received a free upgrade and stayed at the top floor in a superior room. The location was great, really close to Sultan Ahmet Square and the tram station. The hotel provided a crib for our baby and the transfers they booked for us worked really well and were confortable. Breakfast had many options and most of the hotel staff was very nice and helpful, except for this girl with medium brown hair and blond highlights who worked at breakfast serving and cleaning tables, who I will mention in the next section.

There was this young waitress/cleaner at breakfast probably in her 30s with medium brown hair and blond highlights in her hair who said our one year old baby had to take off his sneakers on the couch. She wasn't very polite and there wasn't even a baby chair for him to sit on (which is why he was on the couch). I mean, he can barely walk, so his shoes are usually quite clean. And he's one! This lady probably doesn't have kids and hates them because anyone else would know controling a one year old from going into chairs etc. is a challenge. We wanted to ask her if the floor was so clean that we could lick it, because only then would we let our baby step barefoot on the floor (since babies that age go up and down the chairs all the time). On the second day, she was also very rude telling us to keep the lid of the warm buffet open, when we only closed it because it was already closed when we arrived (?!!!). The rest of the hotel staff was very nice and sweet to our baby, though, which is why I reviewed the staff as good. It's not their fault their coworker is so sour.

The air conditioning was great, as was the location. The WiFi and cleanliness were all good.

The room was very small, as was the bathroom. The toilet and shower were especially difficult to use because of the lack of space. The beds weren't the same height.
