Fufu Atami

If you can get a remodeled room, great; if not, better to avoid.

We stayed here on two separate occasions this past year. The first was truly exceptional in every way. The second time, everything that made the first time great was lacking entirely—from the room, to the some of the personnel and their elusive indifference to reservations made months in advance. We waited over an hour for our room to be made available after the designated check-in time, only to be sorely disappointed when we were given a room overlooking the carpark, with a direct view into our “private” onsen. Very disappointed, we checked out a day early.
