Locanda del Buongustaio

Very happy with our stay here and would highly recommend. Our apartment was on the top floor with a lounge/dining/kitchenette area and bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. Compared to other streets in the centre it is nice and quiet as only two restaurants compared to others nearby having many. We had coffee and pastry there every day (only 2.6 euros and yummy) as well as two dinners in their restaurant Locanda Leonilda dal Buongustaio below the apartment, by far the best food on our trip, hence a second booking. The owners and staff were welcoming and friendly, thank you all. Location wise it’s perfect, just a short ten minute walk from the train station (1.3 euro fare from the airport!) and just off the main Via Roma road in the old town, so super easy to walk everywhere. We wouldn’t hesitate in booking the accommodation and restaurant if we return to Cagliari.

We had a fantastic stay and were really happy with everything! The location is brilliant, right in the heart of city centre with all the main sights, bus stops and train station within easy walking distance. There are also loads of great restaurants, cafés and supermarkets nearby. Our flight was delayed and we didn’t arrive until around midnight, but our host Sylvia was still waiting for us downstairs, which was such a lovely welcome. The apartment is spread over two floors, with three bathrooms and two toilets and AC. Everything was really clean, and the place was lovely and quiet. I actually really enjoyed waking up to the church bells ringing around 7.30am! The restaurant downstairs was also fantastic, with a lovely atmosphere, great food and an incredible wall full of whiskies. The staff were all super friendly and welcoming.

The only small downside was the hot water. As the water tank is quite small, the three of us had to keep our showers to around 5 minutes each, with about 10 minutes between showers. We also had to avoid leaving the water running while shampooing or soaping up, otherwise the water would start to get cold very quickly. Something to bear in mind if you're travelling with a group.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An absolutely wonderful stay — 10/10! I cannot say enough wonderful things about my stay here! The place was beautiful, incredibly clean, comfortable, and in a fantastic location, but what truly made the experience so special was the host. She was genuinely one of the kindest and most welcoming people and made me feel completely at home from the moment I arrived. An amazing bonus is that the restaurant downstairs is also hers — and the food was absolutely phenomenal! Having such delicious, authentic food right downstairs made the entire experience even more special and convenient. The hospitality, accommodations, location, and food were all exceptional. This is one of those places that you are genuinely sad to leave. I would absolutely stay here again the next time I visit and would recommend it without hesitation. If I could give 10 stars, I would! Non adatto a chi ha problemi di deambulazione. Dovuto abbandonare subito, dopo aver avvertito la titolare, a causa del forte odore di gas nell'androne e scala che filtrava anche dentro l'appartamento.
