The Merrion Hotel

Centrally located in the heart of Dublin and very walkable! We were greeted and our luggage handled upon arrival. The property is decorated with old world charm, and the staff was very helpful. The property is a row of reconstructed town homes directly across from landmark buildings. Oscar Wilde's childhood home is located on the corner of the street along with a lovely park. The property has a sitting area for afternoon tea, conversation and a fireplace to warm up in the evening after walking all day. The room was a good size and well appointed. We enjoyed our stay at the Merrion and we will return.

We were greeted immediately like we were old friends returning. The staff made us feel not just welcome but pampered... They even wrapped my cell phone charging cord every evening when my room was turned down!

Only stayed two nights!

A beautiful hotel with superb facilities and a fantastic location. The breakfast and the room service was excellent.

On arrival, I provided my credit card as a holding payment. At checkout, I was assured this amount would be refunded, less the charges for room service and breakfast. Unfortunately, this did not happen. The hotel debited the full holding amount and then left a further charge pending on my account. I contacted the hotel using the email address on the invoice, but received no response. I then called and was told that the finance department does not work weekends, so the matter remains unresolved. I find it extremely disappointing that such a basic aspect of the billing process could be handled so poorly. I would expect a hotel to be able to process payments correctly and provide a timely response when an issue arises.
