7 / 10Buono·set 2026

The village is lovely. The property is quirky and fun. The "hobbit room" was a novelty for taking photos with the kids looking like giants. Bedrooms were decent. Full English Breakfast was very tasty. Most staff were helpful and friendly.

Toilet in one of the bedrooms uses one of those complex flushing mechanisms. We reported issues on Day 1, but it was not resolved by our departure on Day 3 - hopefully this will be rectified as it was a little disgusting. The price we found to be excessive, but that seems to be the norm now in the nicer villages of the Cotswalds during high season. No TV in one of our 2 bedrooms.

8 / 10Eccellente·set 2026

The breakfast was exceptional, plenty of well cooked food and choice. The venue is right in the heart of Stow-on-the-wold.

The basin in the bathroom had a very nasty crack in it (which we reported on the first day). The shower water was very cold for ages before it got hot. The bedroom window was open and couldn't be closed but there was a very heavy curtain to pull across at night. Only a net curtain in the bathroom, which kept falling down.

Great location near to the centre but a little quieter than being on top of the square
