Morston Hall

Zoe in reception was very kind and worked hard before our arrival and when we arrived to accommodate our request for a twin room. ((Despite trying several times to contact booking,.com by telephone and by e mail they did not try to change their default booking for two adults from a double to a twin at my request. This is unacceptable discrimination and very anxiety provoking.). Zoe provided a twin room in a suite- for an extra payment of £70 provided we moved to a twin room in the house after the first two nights. The waiters and kitchen staff weee kind pleasant and supportive. The gardener was knowledgeable and helpful. The pleasant suite had a sofa and patio table outside ideal for a morning or post walk cup of tea. Beds were comfortable. Water was hot.

The coffee at breakfast was not pleasant and let the meal down. The hotel was well situated for exploring the coast but did not live up to expectations generated by the reviews. We tried and enjoyed the short tasting menu and appreciated the alternatives provided for my friend who does not eat seafood. The menu was interesting and beautifully presented.

Location for breakfast was fine but very under staffed with only one waiter who was run ragged. Excellent towels, heated towel rail, good soaps etc in bathroom.

Under staffed at breakfast. Blind in bathroom was broken. Room was odd burnt orange colour with view of dirty moss covered tiles.

Unique venue, nice grounds and helpful staff

Quite expensive for what it was. Would have preferred more choice for breakfast for me personally.

Nice warm pool that we had to ourselves. Breakfast was very good. Location excellent. Room quite comfortable. Staff very friendly. Robes, towels and water provided.

Room a bit tired and very low beams in bathroom. No sauna or steam room available. Restaurant very expensive.
