Crater Lake Gateway - Hwy 140

Quiet nice place.

No complaints, everything was good.

Nicely done older facility. Staff was very helpful for any questions/concerns. Room was clean and comfortable, just a little tight for two people. Would stay again if I was ever back in the area, however since it took me 61 years to make it to Oregon. Doubt if I'll be back, too many other places in the United States I haven't seen yet.

Unfortunately these are older units. I imagine when these were built full size beds were the standard. Now everyone, including myself, prefers queen or king size beds. Putting these larger beds into spaces designed for smaller beds leaves very little room to move. Basically it is one person at a time to move while the other one thinks thin. We were glad that the people on the second floor must have decided to go to bed about the same time we did. In an older facility the floors are squeaky and we could hear every step they took. Unfortunately it would be a lot of work to fix the squeaks, I just chalk it up to character for these older units.

The Gateway hotel was well maintained and met all of our needs. It's relationship with the Rocky Point resort enabled a very good dinner experience likewise. If you are looking for a peaceful, out of the way place for relaxation rest, this is an excellent option.

The covered, outdoor cabana area serves as both the only area outdoors to sit and relax, but also the smoking area for the hotel. It needs to be updated, maintained and cleaned up daily to support both smokers and non-smokers comfortably.
