È stato tutto meglio di come me l’aspettavo.

It was very tidy, I had a lovely bedroom. The shared bathroom was good. Kitchen was well equipped. Living room was comfortable.

Location, if you’re a hiker, isn’t good. 2km from the village. Only food available is what the caretaker will bring you. Bring your own food! And you only see the caretaker briefly, then she’s gone. It’s a weird system. Better for someone w a car who can drive into San Piero.

A nice hostel directly on the Degli Dei trail, approx 2.5km further walk to San Piero. Very comfortable dormitory and a nice well equipped kitchen. Incredibly quiet and relaxed. The management were very communicative and friendly

Appreciate stink bugs are everywhere in this part of Italy but the house was crawling with them inside and out (don’t squash them!! There’s a reason they’re called stink bugs) In hindsight I would’ve bought my own food to eat … although they can offer you 500g bags of pasta and jars of sauce to cook your own, this was quite expensive and you’re left with 3/4 bag of pasta to lug about if you’re travelling solo. In the end I took 2 jars of soup to warm up but it was pretty damn expensive soup! You could also walk to town for an evening meal but I didn’t want to add 5km walk onto the day, especially in the dark. So - although it didn’t spoil anything, give due thought to dinner as the options are very limited. Otherwise it was a very nice stay :)

De manière exceptionnelle, nous avons passé plusieurs nuits dans cet établissement en tant que couple avec un enfant. Ce lieu est davantage occupé par les randonneurs de la Via degli Dei qui y passent une seule nuit. La literie est très bonne. La cuisine très bien équipée aussi. La gare à 5 minutes en voiture pour aller à Florence sur la journée très pratique. Lac, randonnées en accès proche.

Malheureusement nous avons mal dormi à cause de la chaleur de ce mois d’Aout. Les colonnes ventilées ne sont pas suffisantes pour les chambres où il fait très chaud. Pas de Clim. Et pour info il n’y a pas de personnel sur place.
