OPARTMENT The Far Eastern Hotel - People's Square Shanghai

Staff were very attentive. Selina, from reception, was very helpful and accommodating. Very useful to have a laundry. There are not many great accommodation in Shanghai that has laundry available. The overall environment was great and we appreciated how they place was trying something different. Location is also excellent.

The shower could be a bit more clean but was attended very quickly by staff so no problems. There wasn't really much to not like - we had a wonderful stay.

Location was great. Only 10mins walk to multiple malls. Loads of restaurants and cafes nearby. The metro is a 2min walk. Around 10-15mins walk to the nanjing pedestrian street and 30min walk to the bund area. The hotel assisted us to arrange airport pickup and dropoff which was seamless. Special thanks to Ben who always greeted us when he saw us in the lobby and offered valuable advice on sightseeing and restaurants. As soon as we arrived, Ben took out a map of shanghai and started showing us places to visit. Most of the sightseeing places were just about 10mins on taxi. Nice little cafe next door which served free coffee daily to patrons of the hotel. The hotel also offered free coffee and tea daily from morning until evening. We took a room with a little kitchenette because we were travelling with a toddler. We didn't end up cooking but it came with a hob and oven as well as a fridge. We did use the washing machine and dryer which was pretty easy. The hotel is about 40-50mins drive to Pudong Airport and around 30mins drive to Disneyland. Super safe area too. Many people walking about at night but not noisy. The doormen were very welcoming and always helped to carry our stroller or heavy bags. The lobby staff were all very kind and helpful although language was a slight barrier.

The breakfast could be better managed. Part of the breakfast is prepared fresh and that took some time. On one day during full occupancy it took almost 1 hour to get our breakfast. On saying that, the breakfast was tasty and fresh. Mostly dumpling and noodle soup daily but we did not get sick of it. The breakfast spread is not very extensive and could include some pastries and additional fruits perhaps.

Hotel experience exceeded all the expectations. Especially I loved the breakfast, it was excellent!

Opartment is a small boutique hotel which has a great location as it was close to shops and the train stations. The apartment was modern and clean, the staff were very responsive.

My two bedroom apartment was on the 5th floor of the building, which was directly below the bar which was located on the 6th floor. As the bar was busy during the weekend, the noise and music from the bar could be heard from the rooms on the 5th floor. If you are a light sleeper like me, please ask for rooms on the lower floors.
