Great terrace and view, big bathroom and cosy sofa bed.

There was only one air condition in the apartment - you cannot cool down the bedroom!

Fantastic location, near Coop shop, waparetto station. 2 bathrooms are very comt.

This is a very nice appartment - as others have mentionned, there is a lovely roof terrace with a dining table and chairs and also great views which is perfect for your evening aperitif. The balcony right outside the main living area is also great for your morning tea. Plus there is a lift. In general, there was everything in the appartment you would need. As it was hot weather we had mainly simple salads, but if you wanted to do something more complicated, there was a good range of cooking utensils. Plus also a dish-washer. The local Co-op supermarket is very close, well stocked and open everyday. In addition, there are some smaller shops on the way to the vaporetto stop - I reccommend the fruit and veg guy - very helpful, nice produce and reasonable prices. There are quite a few cafés and restaurants along the main waterfront. We generally had our morning coffee (and evening spritz) at "La Palanca" - right by the lane leading to the appartment. They are friendly, and compared to 'mainland' Venice, very reasonably priced. As others have said, Guidecca is less crowded than many parts of Venice, which is very pleasant. It is only a couple of minutes walk to get to "Palanca" vaporetto stop, so if you have bought yourself a multi-day 'pass' for the vaporetti it is quick and easy to hop across. While we were there the weather heated up considerably. However, the appartment has an aircon unit in the main living space and a ceiling fan in the bedroom which did the trick. The 'selective recycling' rules can seem quite complex, with specific days for different types of rubbish, but as well as the door-to-door guy who comes round about 10 am, you can also take your (sorted) rubbish to the 'Junghans' ecological area. This is about 1 minute walk away and takes all types of rubbish between 6.30 and 11.30 every day except Sunday. It's in the Campo Junghans - look for the break in the long red brick wall near the lagoon end.

The 2 bathrooms are connected by the 1 shower cubicle. It's a bit of an unusual arrangement. So if you want absolute privacy, you need to shut both doors from the inside - or have a protocol with your fellow guests. I would prefer a 'smart' TV - eg which connects to the internet. That way you could benefit from your own (eg) netflix account rather than just the standard Italian channels. These are not major issues - this is still the nicest place we have stayed in Venice, and I expect to be back next biennale!
