Secrets Tides Punta Cana - All Inclusive

That it was 40 minutes from the airport but I love the property itself and the people there.

The hotel is new, modern and very well maintained. The rooms are stylish and comfortable. The entire hotel was exceptionally clean, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The room was spacious and had air conditioning, which was essential for staying cool at night and getting a good night’s sleep especially as Punta Cana can be very hot. The pools are large and perfect for relaxing. The beach area is also available but keep in mind that the sea water may not look quite like the Caribbean beaches shown in magazine or advertising photos. If you are looking for that truly “wow” Caribbean nature and crystal-clear water, I would definitely recommend taking a day trip to Saona Island. I used the gym twice and found it well equipped with a good variety of machines. It was also well air-conditioned which made working out comfortable in the hot weather. There is a great variety of food with plenty of options at every meal. Personally, on sunny days I prefer lighter meals, so I really enjoyed the tropical fruits, fresh salads and fish. I also tried the meat, Fish&Chips and pasta which were also good! We especially appreciated that the staff were attentive to food allergies and always asked about dietary requirements. We attended a few evening shows, enjoyed some late-night dancing and played pool at the bar. As the hotel is adults-only there is a great balance of entertainment and relaxation. From cosy dancing and lively evenings to quiet romantic moments. I had also left a note during the booking that we were celebrating a birthday and the hotel went above and beyond to make it special.When we arrived, there was a lovely “Happy Birthday” decoration on the room door and inside the room we found a cake, fresh fruit and champagne waiting for us. The staff also surprised me during breakfast by singing “Happy Birthday” to me. It was such a lovely and thoughtful touch! Overall, we really enjoyed our experience and we would happily stay here again!

Our stay at Secrets Tides Punta Cana was very pleasant; the staff was very attentive and constantly anticipated our needs. However, although there was a huge variety of food, the quality should be better considering it is not a cheap hotel. Public restrooms throughout the resort were often dirty, closed, or out of order. But the real problem—the "cherry on top"—was the sales staff from Unlimited VC (agents at the hotel offering vacation packages); please stay away from them. If you decide not to buy any of their offers, they become hostile and rude, bordering on disrespectful and even resorting to personal attacks against guests who are simply there to rest and relax. We had to file a report with the hotel's general manager regarding the unfortunate situation we were caught up in. To clarify: the hotel itself is excellent, but Unlimited VC is an external company with no affiliation to the hotel.

Property was clean and well laid out. It was modern throughout.

The food was pretty poor. Only 3 out of 7 restaurants were satisfactory - these were Meraki, Tierra and Seaside Grill. Food hygiene at the market cafe seemed to be lacking.
