Downtown Apartment with Balcony City View, Gym & Lounge

My wife and I waited for 2,5 hours in reception Booking.com did not tell me the apartment number, the guard at the desk was not told the apartment number (the guard tried everything he could and was very nice, we tried to converse using his Google translate) I very nearly gave up and was about to find a hotel. Eventually a message got through to the guard and we got in. The person who owns the apartment texted me and was apologetic regarding the problem, he even took steps to make things ok . Eventually we did get in and enjoyed the place especially the view from the balcony. I paid Booking.com so I feel let down by them. I did find a customer service number but the person was difficult to understand, although somehow she may have fixed the issue.??? This is the last time I shall use Booking, they do not make it easy when there are problems.
