The staff was horrid

Location by a gas station made me feel unsafe and it was noisy. The top latch on the door was broken so I felt unsafe. The sink in the bathroom backed up with water. Very old and outdated inn.

Only hotel I've been in for a while that I intentionally chose not to take a shower. The room was clean, but the TV screen was smaller than the screen on my phone.

The motel was very old and tired and the beds showed that in spades. Also, it burned to the ground the night we stayed there. We were lucky to get our 2 cats out before our room went up.

We arrived at the location to find the office closed and the motel uninhabited. Tried to call the telephone number listed, a recording stated that the number was temporarily out of order or disconnected. We ended up staying at a different hotel in town.

This was a basic clean hotel. It was close to the street so you could hear traffic but we didn’t mind that. We’d stay there again.

I have only ever written one other hotel/motel review, and I've traveled extensively, but this was the worst night of "sleep" ever and warrants warning people.
Pros:
The desk agent was very friendly.
For being such an old and not updated building, the room was very clean. Linens were soft!
There's a mini-fridge (didn't try it) and microwave.
Cons:
Sketchy location. The back row of rooms faces a bank of bushes and is very dark.
There are no vending machine on the property, and the tap water is gross. Chevron next door closes at 11pm. I was directed to vending machines at the motel down the street that was even more dark and creepy.
We were in room 28. The mattress closest to the door literally sank in half when I sat on it! It was like a leaking airbed. The other mattress sank some but not as bad. I had to move my kids who were already sleeping onto the other mattress, since they weigh less.
It was 40 degrees and rainy, so I turned on the baseboard heater. It's a dial without any markings other than off and on. At first I thought it wasn't working, but soon heat came blasting out. We all woke up an hour later dripping with sweat. It was like a sauna! I turned it way down and tried to go back to sleep. It didn't get any cooler. Eventually I turned it all the way off, but it still put out heat! By 6am, I plugged in the window a/c unit to the try to offset the heat, but it didn't help.
At bare minimum, being able to sleep is the purpose of a motel. We didn't get that!

Well cared for motel. Room was small but clean and comfortable. Bed was very comfortable. Staff was friendly and check in/out was painless.

The motel was at the far end of town but quit enough. I didn't feel as safe in that neighborhood at night as in other places I have stayed. The web said free breakfast but on arrival found out that was not true, even though I stayed somewhere else recently where they had a full breakfast. The room was in serious need of upgrading and did not appear to be clean, especially the carpet which needed replaced. Staff were friendly enough on check in and check out.

I had car troubles enroute to Seattle and needed a place to stay last minute. I was checked In very late by a pleasant woman who was very accommodating. The room was clean and quiet and as well as affordable.

There was no free breakfast. Not enough electrical outlets. Outlet in bathroom too high to reach. Toilet too small and too low. Entire motel should be remodeled.

Older hotel but staff was helpful in providing extension cords for our medical devices because there were limited electrical outlets.

This property is a old style motel with 1950 a tiny window ac/heater in the window. The is not an outlet in the bathroom besides the one on the tiny 40 watt wall light that I couldn’t reach. No blow dryer provided. No mention when checking in that room had no blow dryer. The blanket & bedspread was paper thin. The carpet had a strange smell. The bathroom pink tile & tub was held together with nasty dirty caulk. The worst was the toilet had a sanitized band, but had pee & toilet paper in it.

As in other reviews, this is an older hotel. The woman who checked us in was was very nice and joined us in joking back and forth. She saw the size of our truck and changed our room assignment to make parking easier for us. The room was very clean, cleaner than some more modern facilities in which we've stayed.

The hotel was ok, it was clean, bed was comfortable. I know I wasn't staying at a Hilton so my expectations weren't very hi. The only bummer was that the website advertised breakfast but there was none because if covid. Overall good place if you're just looking for a place to sleep.

This is a great little motel, competes well with bigger pricier motels. Attractive, clean room, very firm comfortable bed. All expected amenities, and the bath/shower worked perfectly which I cannot say for the Hampton Inn which I stayed in the previous night! Wish they had their flower tubs filled with happy flowers on street side. That was the only downer.

Booked with this hotel for 2 employees - 10 min after booking plans changed for them and they were no longer stopping in La Grande. Phoned the hotel, lady hung up on me the first time and when I called back she refused to authorize Expedia to refund me for the rooms, reporting her bosses wouldn’t allow it - but also refused to give me a email or phone number to said bosses. As someone who books multiple hotel rooms everyday I would not recommend this hotel solely based on poor service…. I have never had this problem in all my years of booking and changing hotel rooms.
To the hotel- if you have changed your mind and would like to refund my rooms I would gladly retract my review.

Location was great, Outdated but was clean, needs new paint and new flooring and new bedding but clean. no plug in in the bathroom.. plumbing slow and needs upgrade.

Convenient to local town. Need some upgrades. Pool was no longer in use. Nice staff at check in. No outside noise and was comfortable.

It was a dump. TV inop, no continental breakfast, building condition was horrible, the pool didn’t look like it had been used or had any water in it for years. Parking was tight, had to park on street. A/C worked but very noisy. On the positive side, water was hot, shower worked. This property is very dated and rundown. Honestly the worst place I’ve ever stayed in. Even worse, I paid $140 for this place. It wasn’t worth even half that!

Old facility, small rooms, small bathroom with only outlet in over the sink light fixture. No way to plug in a hair dryer or curling iron with a GFI plug. Bad mattress with only 2 pillows - sore back in the morning. Noisy with drive thru Burger King next door. Pool not open - dirty.

Reserved specifically for advertised pool. Pool was empty, and looked as if it had been empty for years. No available morning coffee until after 6 am. No close stores or shops for snacks. Will not be returning.

I was most impressed by the lady at the front desk. I had left my cell phone in the room, although I did not
discoverer it was missing until we were 50 miles down the road, I called the motel and asked if they could check
in the room for it. The lady said she would right then and I waited a few minutes. She came on the phone to tell me she had found it under a chair. What a relief! We drove back to the motel to retrieve it. I didn't catch her name but she was very kind.

I came very late at night and they were very accommodating. The lady behind the counter was very courteous and helpful. Personalble.

We were quite surprised at the size of the room. There was hardly room to move around the furniture. The room was clean, but the furniture definitely showed its wear. The fridge and microwave were precariously perched on a small stool. The bathroom was OK, nothing fancy at all. We did find some stink bugs on the wall. The continental breakfast was very minimal. There was only one place to sit--total even when no one was getting breakfast. The owner/manager was very pleasant.

we stay at this motel once a month while visiting family. The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. This time, however, the bathroom wasn't as clean as it should have been. But, we will add that up to human error, we all have bad days, and we will continue to stay here in the future.

If you're on a budget, this hotel was better than I was expecting when we pulled up. The room was clean and attractive and breakfast was adequate. The bed could have been more comfortable, but it was just for one night.
