Very dated but a lovely setting very clean and close to the town
No hot water only lukewarm but I guess you should expect that due to the age of the building

A delightfully old and drafty building with a huge character. The hot water system had some challenges which was dealt with and compensated for. The staff are fabulous particularly David who went above and beyond to make guests welcome and comfortable. If you're not too bothered about groaning plumbing, the odd draft and the possibility of a ghostly appreciation, get the Priory booked up.

Great location
A bit tired

The room was fine but zero character (Room 41 in an annexed building). The shower was hot enough despite other reviews but we weren't in the main house, so maybe that's the difference.
Reception staff weren't particularly welcoming on arrival. They walked us to our room (which wasn't in the main hotel) but didn't offer to help with the bags we were clearly struggling with, especially after a 3hr drive and the schlep from the car park.
Lighting in the room wasn't great.
