I had a very positive stay at Kapalai Hotel in Semporna. The hotel is clean, the room was spacious and comfortable, with a great shower and a very clean bathroom. The breakfast was also good, with a satisfying selection.
Apart from that, it is definitely a good place to stay and a recommended stopover for one night, especially for travellers who are passing through Semporna before or after their trips to the islands.
The only thing to consider is the location: the hotel is quite far from Semporna town centre, so you will need to take a Grab to get there.

The breakfast was very poor. Very little to choose. No real western options
