Someone met us on arrival and showed us round, a lovely welcome. The rooms were a reasonable size with good sized bathrooms and, although small and not exactly comfortable, it was good to have the outside area on the roof. It was also a useful space to hang washing on the air rack provided. The kitchen facilities were good, with an area to sit and eat. Great location and very close to the beach.

Comfortable seating area wasn't great for 4 people - just one sofa and stools.

We loved the Casa Santini apartment in Ortigia. Its a two level apartment with kitchen, living area plus one small bedroom and shared bathroom on first floor and two other bedrooms with connected bathrooms on the second floor. There were six of us and it worked out well. The first floor bedroom is small but our two adult daughters fit nicely there and shared a bed. The apartment was nicely appointed and stocked and we did make dinner there one night. Everything was very clean and beds comfortable. The washing machine was on the first level. Olga was quite responsive and helpful for our entire stay. We got beach towels as we went on a boat excursion. We loved the location as it was a short walk to everything and we were very close to the water with a small pebbly beach that our girls did visit to cool off in the water. There are stairs to get into the apartment and another set to get to the next level but there was nice lighting on the staircase and it was not a problem. There was a lovely rooftop accessible by another set of stairs and our adult children spent some time up there. We would definitely stay at Casa Santini again. Pictures attached are of our quiet and safe street and the entrance of our apartment. Plus the small beach.

nothing really but I had some trouble learning how to work the washing machine on the first level. Olga helped via text and I also googled the model and did some translations but it might be helpful to have a sheet with some basic instructions in English as to which compartment the detergent goes into. All good in the end and the washing machine worked well for us and was an added plus!
