Great room, lovely building and settings.
I’d avoid staying mid-week due to reduced staff / dining menu…and avoid cocktails

Excellent stay, quiet room and good food. I suggest staying in the main building, as the annexe is far from everything, and the path between the annexe and the main building can get slippery on rainy days (and it rains a lot in England). The wine list and beer selection need improvement.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful stately house for my friend’s birthday. The location is stunning, with a lovely little town nearby and easy access to everything.
The staff were incredibly pleasant and helpful, especially the 24-hour front desk, which was perfect as we returned quite late after a concert. They even kindly gave us water when we arrived.
The breakfast was really lovely, and the swimming pool and sauna were excellent and very well looked after. My friend was absolutely delighted with the whole experience, which made her birthday even more special.
We had a fantastic time and would definitely come back!
